14th place in this challenge isn't bad. The scores were lower than in most challenges. Voters sometimes tend to be very literal and specific about what they are looking for. Many of the entries were really good but because they seemed to be "inside looking out" they were probably penalized. Yours was vey suggestive of "Outside looking in" but personally, I did not care for the lens baby effect. I'm wondering if the out of focus aspect would have looked better if the picture was in color? I like your other picture better. But what is REALLY important is that you Like it!

Your entry is the more simple and focused of the images, in my opinion. I really like her rapt concentration and the diagonal lines. I also like the lens baby effect, not even knowing what it was till Lawrence (GolferDDS) pointed it out. Your love for your dog (sorry, I've forgotten his or her name), and it's a very sweet portrait, may have distracted you from the busy distractions in the rest of the image. Your entry is lovely.

loved reading your feedback Larry ..
its always enlightening to hear how other ppl view our photographs ..
ps .. i do feel the black and white gave this more atmosphere over a colour version .. but i love black and white .. A LOT .. so i may be a bit biased .. !! .. ;)

hey Rich ..
its funny but when i showed this to a family member he said .. "how cool .. the dress is striped like the inside and outside flooring" ..
i'm not shy to admit .. that i didnt even notice that glaring and obvious element in the photo .. probably a case of being too close to see ..
and yes the lensbaby lenses are great for giving photos a wonderful blur and so much more .. really difficult to use tho .. a big learning curve .. and many more deletions that keepers ..
and my little dog is mr tod .. and once again .. like i said to Larry i'm totally biased when it comes to black and white .. and i'm totally biased when it comes to mr tod ..
thankyou so much for your feedback .. :)

much appreciated guys .. :)
