Is a new archival challenge going to be announced for this week? I thought the challenge that started last night might have been but it is not showing that.

No, and if you read the flag on the new challenge you'll see it's not archival because literally everyone, regardless of their covid-restriction status, has a pair of thingies they can slap together for a shot :-)

I think the "Extra Rules: Everyone has thingies around. So this is NOT an archival challenge! Put your thingies on your thingies in the next two weeks.." is intended to answer that question and the answer is no, there will be no archival challenge this week. I'll let Bear_Music or someone else in the know verify.

If that is the case, does that mean that we can expect fewer (possibly many fewer) archival challenges in the future? I for one have enjoyed having weekly opportunities and incentives to dig around in my archives and, hopefully, find and process a few I'd forgotten about or just never gotten to.

ETA: Took me so long to compose this that it's been confirmed. Thanks, Robert. But because I also asked another question, I'll leave it.

It's not a policy change at this point, just a one-off exception.

Thanks... hadn't read the flag yet... just the topic. I, also, have enjoyed looking through my archives and finding photos I had forgotten about.

I understand that Thingie on Thingie was not archival but would have thought tonight’s challenge would be back to the regular routine. Can Social Distance be Archival please?

Extreme Weather and Grunge III are running under Archival currently. That makes two on the submission board ...

I get that. But we were told that Thingie on Thingie was a one-off exception. So I was expecting that tonight’s challenge would be archival.

No need for it to be archival, since social distancing is how we all are living currently. And that the previous instance was described as a "one-off" didn't mean it would never occur again, just that it wasn't the "new normal". Complicating things is the fact that I've been pretty under-the-weather for the past couple weeks and the scheduling duties are in Another admin's hands. Enjoy the variations, life is never boring :-)
