Just an FYI, you can click the checkbox "Show all challenges at once" and all the entire history shows on one page. Then you can do a standard work search from the browser (Ctrl+F).

Ok. I'm confused. Just tried to upload a photo to the Architecture III challenge and it shows me the following screen after uploading ...

Chrome browser (Version 87.0.4280.88 (Official Build) (64-bit))
Image is 780x539 and file size is 162kb.

Gosh. Yep. The color was so light on this monitor I didn't see the checkbox. Thanks! :-)

Thanks for the nudge/reminder! I've been meaning to do this. I just uploaded a couple of pictures.

Observation: If you are not logged in and you try to upload an image you get a non-specific message along the lines of "Error, image not uploaded, (or unable to upload)", rather than something that tells you that you cannot upload because you are not logged in which would be helpful.

Question/Comment: I assume archival images are acceptable while the site is in Beta testing? I clicked the box saying that the image was taken in the appropriate time period, but entered the actual 2018 and 2019 dates, and it accepted them both.

ETA: Logged it (eventually!), Windows 10, Firefox v 83.0

Try to upload to one of the challenges on the beta site: https://a.dpchallenge.com

It is so hard to try and find bugs if there is only 1 entry...
Doesn't have to be a perfect picture - it's not about the challenge but about testing the new site

Thanks!!!

Ok. Posted to 6 different 'Test' challenges.
12/18/2020 07:45:14 PM · #57

Discrepancy Noticed The new site differs from the current one in how the deadline for a challenge submission is portrayed.

In the existing site this "Sunday night's challenge" is shown as:

Submission Deadline: Sunday, December 20th, 2020 (began Dec. 7th 2020)
Voting Dates: Dec. 21st 2020 - Dec. 27th 2020

On DPCv3 Beta the Sunday night challenge is shown as:

Submission Deadline: December 21, 2020 (began December 7, 2020)
Voting Dates: December 21, 2020 - December 28, 2020

I much prefer the way it is portrayed on the existing site and see a potential for confusion the other way.

Reduntant score information on completed challenges: (You can free up a line!!)

This happens for every entry: An example

Lord of Glencoe
sempermarine
Place: 1st
Percentile: 100%
Avg Vote: 7.7632
Votes: 38
Avg Vote: 7.7632 This is a repeat of an earlier line
etc...

This falls into the category of site "design". Suggest posting all scores to 4 decimal places rather than just the significant digits. It seems easier to "scan" across the results when they have a similar appearance. ... But I might get used to it after a while ...

From a recent challenge, in which about one third of the results were impacted by this, ie showed a number with less than four decimal places.

I'm suggesting this:
Avg Vote: 6.5789
Participants Avg: 6.0000
Non-Participants Avg: 6.8462

instead of this:

Avg Vote: 6.5789
Participants Avg: 6
Non-Participants Avg: 6.8462

Back to add:
Now I think more about what I wrote I am tempted to, and in fact will, suggest that the site present scores with fewer than 4 decimal places. The choice is ultimately arbitrary and the level of precision implied by that many decimal places is just not warranted. This would result in more "ties", especially at current participation levels, and would also present a "discontinuity" with existing scores. But I suspect we'd get used to both those.

Time I went to bed before I come up with any more heretical ideas!! But I am serious about considering this one.

Thank you Penny and Barry for your support at testing

And yes, it's a good idea to make the appearance of the scores identical concerning the number of decimal places

Summary: Challenge entries don't show/highlight the user's vote on the voting breakdown chart. Without this it's impossible to know what vote you gave an entry once the challenge voting is over.

Two issues related to Favorites:

1) A fave posted on the original site does not show up on Beta site: Eg I faved Bear_music's entry in Goofy Face. eg URL: https://a.dpchallenge.com/entry?id=1257074

2) A fave which I assume was actually posted using the beta site does not reveal the name of person when "(view)" is clicked: Shows one fav, original site shows 2 favs eg URL: https://a.dpchallenge.com/entry?id=1257077

Logged in, Firefox v 84.0 on Windows 10 Home.

Edited after I remembered Firefox was updated this morning.

adding a pic to portfolio, does not show up on main profile page
error when trying to put a profile picture in (mind you it was Jeremy Clarkson, so I understand that one LOL)
Think I broke the new site when I tried adding my camera, i am still getting rolling circles 5 mins later

This page indicates there are 15 comments, but only 10 are shown.

MacOS 11.0.1
iPadOS 14.3

Edit: that was when not logged in. After login, all 15 are shown

Some issues regarding commenting:
- the header font is quite large. (good if you want to make your point... but otherwise a little over-the-top, maybe)
- once you hit the 'block quote' button there's no way to get out... every time the button is pressed, a new quote occurs within the quote. It seems impossible to end a quote (or... unclear how to do that)
- preview button is missing
- link to user profile is missing
- function of the 'code' button is not clear (to me...)

MacOS 11.0.1
iPadOS 14.3

In the user profile, the number of comments is not correctly shown in the 'Challenge Entries' table.

This has also been my experience. Meanwhile, I'm checking my browser's cookie saving settings to see if that is a factor. I'll update my message when I've done this.

Yes indeed.
klick right and save as on your own hard drive.

And that's why I'm quite reluctant when it comes to allowing larger pictures with more than 700 kb: that would be a paradise for all those who want to use high quailty pictures without paying for them - unless you install watermarks on every picture

Not a bug but just to mention:
You can delete your entry even when voting has started. I don't think that's the case on the regular/old site - or is it?
