To say Goodbye, I have been here since circa 2004, and have enjoyed my time with you
but Iam battling Dementia and other Health probllems. I find it difficult to hold my camera due to rhumatism..and some times forget where my camera is if I have left it in another pla ce other than the camera bag!!!!. I have enjoyed being here, but this year Three of my close photographer friends have passed away..
Rhumatism in both thumbs has made handling my camera harder and lack of sharpness is
evident in some of my pictures..

Sorry to hear that. Would it help to use a tripod for all of your photography instead of hand held?

thanks to all for your kindness, also this week we lost Ron Hubbard, who was a local
professional. who mentored so many members of our local photo club including my self
so many of us learned so much from him and his generosity to our club..

I'm constantly forgetting where I've placed my camera, but only because I never put anything away. :)

There never is such a thing as goodbye. You know that we never let people leave. But don't feel like you have to do anything. We'll always be here. If you want to shoot and enter, shoot and enter. Otherwise, kick back, put your feet up, and sit a spell with us.

We're not as talkative here as we used to be, but we can be, if you need us. Just start a thread "needing some company", and we'll be with you!

well I am humbled with your replies, If ever any of you come down under theres always a coffee.or something stronger if your passing through, stop in !!!!!

Even when the camera becomes too burdensome, you still can enjoy the images -- and vote too. You may find that what you consider excellent changes over time, which happens to everyone else too. Still valuable to have your input and a good way to remain connected.

Hey man, so sorry to hear about all this crap going on, as we get older bits drop off and we start to conk out, might be time to get in the garden and grow some veggies. Next time I'm down that way I'll pop in for some veggie soup & whisky. Stay in touch, if you remember :)

If our GOVT will “allow” us to travel internationally again, NZ will be the first place we go back to. So keep that coffee brewing strong :)

Hang around there’s no reason to leave yet,

Tena koa kaua e whakarere!

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time Nick but please don't leave. You are a valued member of this small but perfectly formed unique community. As the others have said, just stay put and keep the wonderful friendships you have here. No pressure to take photos or enter any photo or indeed to do anything. But it feels totally unnecessary to have to cut your ties. I still cherish the calendar you very kindly posted to me.

Sorry, bud. You aren't allowed to leave.

:D

Stay and be with us, even if you don't enter.

We're still your friends, you know, whether you shoot or not.

Your post made me so very sad, Nick. Not only because of your physical struggles, but because your marvelous, generous, and uplifting comments were all made in spite of them.

If photography continues to bring you joy - whether taking photos, or just discussing them - then there is really no need for you to "leave".

It is sad to read this. But I'm sure you'll find ways to produce still more images and still be part of this group. Illness is a bad thing, perhaps photographic art can, in part, alleviate suffering

Nick, don't be too hasty here, wait and see if the Nurse practitioner can maybe make some changes to your meds.

And anyway, I don't want to imagine this site without you. As Lydia says, please stay even if you don't enter. We're here.

Hotel California Nick. You can check out anytime you wish, but you can never leave. Hang in there, there are still bright days ahead. Feeling sad to hear about your physical challenges. The community is here for you NMW.

One definition of a true gentleman is one who always remembers a lady's birthday but never her age.

Add one more vote for having you stick around. :-)

Well, damn!

I didn't really know whether to go sympathetic or snarky, so you'll just have to take it how you want it.

You know the difference between DPC and love? DPC is forever.

We've buried family members here and yet still keep them alive in out hearts and minds and their legacies still adorn our archives.

There are folks here going through personally, and have had family members go through what you're dealing with. You can come here to get support and bitch.

We're here. I know that on at least two occasions people here have made a difference in my life that I didn't get anywhere else.

Stay with us as long as you can. Please.

Stick around mate, there is never any GoodByes from here, there is only Au Revoir!

As my British Mum says " Keep your pecker up"

And yes, she has no idea what that means in America.

It Means Hopes, and determination as the british were during WW2 and the Battle of Britain.
