I just received an email from someone at work. She has a couple of digital cameras that she doesn't use/need and wonders if there's an organization specific to photography that would take them as a a donation? Helping underprivileged youth for example.

Haven't heard of anything more recently ... you might call local high schools, Boys&Girls Club, public library, adult school or community college, etc.

I mentor our Boy Scout Troop 'Historian' who takes photos of Troop activities / events. Photos are stored online and a subset used to update a 'scrapbook' for future Scouts in our Troop to enjoy / remember. There could be a Troop in your friends area that could put a camera to good use.
