Keep in mind that with this volume, a single outlier can explain the entire pattern you see.

Here is a possible list of votes that creates the scores you are seeing:

10, 5, 4, 6, 5, 5, 4, 5

Notice how consistent it is except for that first vote. I don't know that these are the votes you received. I just want to make the point that voters could potentially be voting very consistently and one single voter can make it look like a downward trend.

I hope I got the math right. It's early. I know I'm at least close.

Let's just say that I was watching closely enough to know that I've got 9 votes right now and a single score given to me this morning (I noticed when it came in so I know what it was) has lowered my score almost 3/4 of a point from what I would have without it. That's a hell of an outlier.

If that is true, the vote would be 7 points lower than your average. So you have a very high average.

Amazing how voters obsess over 1/10,000 of a point ...

I'm thinking the forums would look different (perhaps more boring) if the "current score" was displayed with only one column to the right of the decimal point. Except for determining precise final rankings, I think those are the only numbers which have any meaning as to the "quality" or impact of the picture.

The word on the street is, "It takes a Pigeon to Skew one." Meanwhile, the Nuns are confused and the Poets deceased. But it's all Jake with me, and I'm Glad to be bad, dad. That's all the Fish I'd care to Thing about right now. Please Bare with me. Merci Bien!

Why are you skewering streetpigeon?!?

I was going to use him for the next username challenge, and here you are skewering him! I don't photograph dead birds. That would be gross!
