When I live my everyday life, I sometimes think: That would be great for a dpc challenge.
e.g. I see a face in a tree or a power distribution board and I think: I have to remember this point if one day there is another pareidolia challenge ... But when the challenge shows up I forgot what and especially where I am saw this particular motif.
I also remember a situation some time ago when I was riding home on the subway late at night. A few seats down sat a young man - white suit, black shirt, like John Travolta and with the same attitude - who had mascara and lipstick stains on the lapel of his suit. My thought was: OMG, whose heart did you break tonight? I was too shy to ask if I could take a picture. This would have been the perfect entry for "sitting". Since this is not an archival challenge, it does not matter.
But do you also think a lot about dpc in your daily life? Or am I the only weird one? |

I don't use public transport nor go around the shops while we have the pandemia but we do a lot of walking. I always carry my little Sony with me and before we leave I check the upcoming challenges. On last walk I was hoping to see some cows upside down but they wouldn't do it ;)

Really? You don't have very many cooperative cows there, I guess. I was going to enter an upside down cow, but I figured everyone would be doing that. |

Really? You don't have very many cooperative cows there, I guess. I was going to enter an upside down cow, but I figured everyone would be doing that. |
Depends on how many kids were out tipping cows the night before. It has slowed down some since the coronavirus. |

| To answer the OP's question ... yes, it's second nature now to be on auto-DPC mode. My family too! :-) |

I can say I'm going to go to the store for Bubble Gum and Lace and no one will question it.
I can rearrange the furniture and they'll just walk around it without question.
I can ask them to stand on their head and they'll ask me "where"?

I wouldn't want to provoke the PETA people, so I upend my cows in Photoshop :-) But yes to DPC-mode; don't leave home without it.

This feels familiar, even though I've read several articles which suggest keeping a small notebook to write these ideas down "for later" ... |

When I shoot regularly, I always have DPC in mind. I always know what the next 3-4 challenges are and I'm always looking around for what's out there.
These days, well, let's just say I'm lucky to remember which day of the week it is. My dpc state of mind is dwindling (maybe that would be a good challenge topic). |

My neighbor's cows have also remained resolutely upright for the whole of the challenge entry period. So disappointing. But the point is, I've been keeping an eye out. You never know when the perfect DPC entry opportunity will present itself. |

I'm losing my DPC state of mind. There's only so much I can shoot at home and I'm getting bored with taking the "same" photos over and over again. I even went a couple of weeks without touching my camera, and that never happens to me. Hopefully one of these days I'll feel safe to go out again.
