something i discovered by accident a few days ago after Camera Raw updated to vs 12.3 and i was fiddling around trying to work things out ..
a lot of people might know this .. but others may not ..
and its a great tool ..
say you dont have your raw files .. or dont shoot in raw .. you can still use the Camera Raw software for your jpegs .. by dragging a jpeg .. or several .. into Adobe Bridge ..
(i'm using photoshop CC and adobe bridge CC .. i'm not sure if this works in other versions ..)
so when you've dragged your jpegs into bridge .. select one or several jpegs and right click the option to open in Camera Raw ..
you can then do your edit there .. or batch edits .. and save .. i usually save to the same destination .. ie in bridge ..
i dont use bridge for anything else .. so i then move the original jpegs and the newly edited jpegs back into my original folder ..
i love the Camera Raw program for doing first edits .. so this might be good for other ppl ..

It's a great thing to be able to do, yup. But as far as I know it's always been possible. You can't DO as much with a JPG as you can with a RAW, it doesn't have the same range and depth, but Camera Raw is still a great & logical first step in a processing workflow for JPGs.

| You don't have to go into Bridge. Just go to Filter>Camera Raw Filter. |

Older versions of Photoshop don't have Filter>Camera Raw Filter, but you can still do it using Bridge.
