The Still Life challenge asked for thinking out of the box but a lot of voters aren't thinking out of the box and are punishing out of the box ideas.
My entry was at 6.7500 after 4 votes. Only went down from there again as usual...yawn.... Another 5 votes later and now at 6.000 for 9 votes.
I don't know...I really had high hopes for this one and I think it's actually very good and one of my best in a long while.....in fact without wanting
to sound pompous I think it's one of the best entries amongst the lot but alas......the voters seem to think differently.

Telling people they are voting incorrectly never works.

Just got more than one 1 in a row. Not saying that’s wrong. Do what you like, just keep voting.

So did I, I hope the SC is looking into this.

The string of 1s may cause me to revise my earlier statement ... it is possible for someone to "vote incorrectly" if they are using the keypad and don't realize that typing "1 0" can result in a vote of 1 being registered ...

Lots of 1s will make people leave this site so I think it is a problem to address by SC who can see who does it.

Can you submit a ticket outlining the situation and your concerns so that the "appropriate" people can deal with it?

Also, remember that aberrant votes can be scrubbed automatically at rollover -- that is not an ongoing process during the voting.

Wow, someone is really messing with their votes.

I have 9 votes and my score has changed from 6.666 to 6.777 and now 6.333 no increase in votes. That's in the last 10 minutes

You have no 1's, no vote lower than a 5, O queen-of-paranoia :-)

I think the person went back and upped all of the one votes.

Mine went up to where it was right when others’ did.

Had gone down at the same time, too.

The last two votes at the time totaled five.

Then, it went back to where it was.

A fun, little game... with rewards here... for someone.

I do t care how folks vote... IF they’re voting an honest scale for every image.

If I get a one just like everyone else, then I’m happy the voter is either happy, or had fun! Ha!!

Or both!!

Since the revisions happened after my second post here I'd rather think the 1s were accidental and not part of a "game" ... "assuming the worst" about people (voters) is bound to drive people away too ...

Naw, just a person with a degree in math, so I get curious and do the math.

But my score also went up without new votes, so I understand why you didn't see it.

(Yeah, my husband and I also have been graphing covid numbers every day. Yup. We're that weird.

The rot continues unabatedly...After 13 votes now down to 5.6700. Looking forward to the brown at this rate:) oh and reading through this thread I just saw all the anxiety and anguish caused inadvertently by my voting method. I own up it’s me causing you all the grief and pain by the way I always vote. You see I vote as follows: I go through the entries in three runs.. first run I separate the entries into two distinct categories by giving either a 1 or a 10. Then I go for a second run through all the entries I gave a 10 and adjust them between 10 and 5. Then I do a third run and go through all the entries I gave a 1 and adjust them between 1 and 5. I have been voting like this for quite a while and find it makes it easier for me to vote this way. So sorry folks but you are really worrying for nothing.

Just been thinking... I guess I could do my first run differently by making the first two distinct categories five’s and ten’s instead of one’s and ten’s and then adjust from there on my next two runs. That way people wont be all upset thinking someone is handing out one’s indiscrimenately.

Good idea, I thought that was you.

I vote in a similar manner except that I use different ‘place holders’ for the first round: Either a 6 or no vote at all (yet). This is much less disturbing fot the people who are online and see their average jumping up and down (or the other way around) and get frustrated.
