First of all, hello everyone, it's fun to be active again on DPC! I'm glad to see this place is still going.

Second, I wanted to share this find. I stumbled upon this interesting research paper where a team from Stanford used DPC to help train their AI on how to rate photos...

Rating Image Aesthetics using Deep Learning

//infolab.stanford.edu/~wangz/project/imsearch/Aesthetics/TMM15/lu.pdf

I feel like the ultimate challenge now would be to take a photo that is scored low by the AI but highly rated by a human crowd. Are there any human elements left that machines don't understand? Or are we too predictable?

**Note, I found the link doesn't load. If that's the case for you, take the 's' out of 'https'

Crazy... there is nothing I can do to get that to load through a link, but copying/pasting the non-secure address:

//infolab.stanford.edu/~wangz/project/imsearch/Aesthetics/TMM15/lu.pdf

does work.

LOL, there's no one here who will actually read that paper. For those interested, the reference to DPC is on Page 6. They used photos from DPC and Photo.net to evaluate the performance of their trained neural nets.

Interesting. On page 7, fig 7 They used one of my pictures from 2008 to represent pictures with the highest esthetics. My old watermark username (lnede) is on the picture! Wish I understood what they are talking about!

I read the intro. Didn’t understand a word of it!

Yeah, I don't have the patience to read that. But I have a photo in it also. Pretty cool!
