I can guess what it is but it doesn't seem to be an existing word.
Google search gives me only 237 results with that word
Was this word invented here on DPC?

Well, a hamlet is a small village, so I guess it was probably invented to help describe the acceptable subjects.

My understanding of it was a challenge that was a cityscape or a townscape or a villagescape or.............ahamletscape.

Obviously, it's anywhere Hamlet used to go to escape.

I thought it might be Hamlet manscaping... But I don't think I want to see photos of that!

In the interest of (slightly) increased clarity I have altered the title so it ends with Hamlet/scape :-) LOVE the creativity of these responses. And yes, Georges, I invented the word...

One of my favorite restaurants is in nearby Chatham. It's called "The Talkative Pig". Just saying...

Tails and Trotters

Tails and Trotters
(Judy B. Goodenough)

This is wonderful, set to music.

Little piggy hollered in the middle of the night,
"Tell me now, Mama, I wanna get it right.
What'll I be when I get big?"
"Hush," said his mama, "You're gonna be a pig.

CHORUS
"That's how it is when you get older,
"You're bacon, butt, and picnic shoulder.
"All my sons and all my daughters
"Are hocks and hams and tails and trotters."

"Oh, no," said the piggy, "That's mighty hard,
"There's more to me than loin and lard.
"I can walk and talk, I'm young and strong."
"Hush," said his mama, "Not for long."

"Oh, no," said the piggy, and he started to howl,
"There's more to me than cheek and jowl.
"I'm pink and pretty, I can sing and dance."
"Hush," said his mama, "You'll never get a chance."

"Oh, no," said the piggy, "I'll show you all."
He went under the fence and over the wall.
He ran and he ran till the moon went down;
He ran and he ran till he came to a town.

With a kink in his tail and a wink in his eye,
He put on a hat and he put on a tie;
He parted his hair, bought a diamond ring,
And nobody noticed anything.

"Oh, see," said the piggy, "I'm one of you."
And everyone said, "How true, how true."
He paid his money and he lived in style;
Sometimes he sang with half a smile:

He's a big boar now, he's executive pork,
And he eats his vittles with a knife and fork;
He often thinks of the lonesome tune
His mama sang by the light of the moon:

Not exactly, but close. A while ago there was a curious case of a disappearing challenge after I had scheduled it and I had no idea where it had gone. That was the original version of "A Country Not My Own". So I created "A Country Not My Own.." and scheduled THAT at the appropriate time. Now, apparently, the original of that challenge got scheduled for tonight AND it had the same challenge number assigned to it as the Hamletscape challenge, which makes sense if you know what I think I know, but anyway... So apparently the doppleganger shoved the hamlet off the cliffs like a lemming or something.

So I have rescheduled it, starting today. Anyone who had already entered, needs to re-enter the same image. But we are good to go with a rare thursday-instead-of-tuesday open challenge.

I think. I'm sleepy. Back to bed. Thanks PennyClick for the heads up. Y'all should have seen that conversation as I fifn't have my cochlear device on nor my glasses on ad I was trying to figure out WHAT the heck she was saying :-)

I saw it.

Rolled over.

Went back to sleep.

Knowing that The Powers That Be will take care of us as they always do so well.
