| I decided to take a new photo for this challenge and just went to enter it but found that since it was taken after the challenge was announced, it's not valid. I get that it's an archival challenge so you can use old shots but why can't we use new ones as well? The shot was taken in my house so no social distancing was violated. |

| I used a new photo as well and didn’t have a problem. Try using a different date. It doesn’t matter in the submission information. |

| Some of the images in recently completed Animal (Archival) were new shots, don't think it needs to be something old, my abstract is a new shot and uploaded fine |

You can enter any picture taken up until the submission deadline; it does not need to be "archival".
There is a known "bug" in the system which causes the site to generate an "out of date range" error; just enter an earlier date on the submission page and put the "real" date in the photographer's notes section. |
