I'm interested in meeting people who live in the area. I'm in the western suburbs, but go to school in St Paul. Who else is from around here?

I've been living in Minneapolis but am actually out in the eastern suburbs now. It doesn't seem like there are a lot of active Twin Cities folks on DPC.

Nusbaum, wouldn't that be Iowa? Hehe. I just drove through your neck of the woods this summer.

MK - I love your pumpkin shots. Neat.

undieyatch - You've some beautiful country over there. I love shooting along the river.

*tips hat*
Nice to meet you all.

Do you guys get into the cities very often, next time you're here we could all meet for a snack somewhere, eh?

I lived in Rochester from 80-92 am originally from La Crosse.
Worked at Mayo am now in Omaha. Was up there last month. Loved the new Gonda building. Always enjoyed the short commute to the TC's.

I'll have to check out your's and Bibliophile's portfolios for some MN. memories.

I'm from Madison, WI, but will be visiting the Twin Cities for Thanksgiving weekend. I would welcome a get together over that holiday weekend if anyone is interested. Best time would be sometime Saturday during the day (Nov 27th) or second best Friday (Nov 26th).

Any takers? I'll be based in a hotel in Edina (far west suburb) that weekend.

still looking for anybody who wants to get together over the Thanksgiving weekend, Friday the 26th or Saturday the 27th of November. Maybe do some lake photography, or just visit other photogenic areas. I'll be in town for the holiday weekend (west suberbs, Edina) and will not have access to a computer, so I'll be DPC incommunicado. If anybody is interested, post here or PM me and we'll exchange cell phone numbers so I can contact you and arrange rendezvous locations, etc. Depending on the timing, my daughter, smartypants, may join us as well.

Sounds tempting John but this year I'll be back in Colorado for the Thanksgiving weekend. Good luck with your trip.

Thursday through Sunday morning. Thursday is pretty much family commitments. Best time for picture-taking is Friday daytime or Saturday daytime. I'm also open to evening/nights, skyline, artificially lit buildings, etc.

I was in Minneapolis on businness once, nice place but I wouldn't want to live there. People from there sound like the mom on the cartoon Bobbies World. Don't Cha Know.

Did live in Brooklyn Center for 8 years. Loved it!!! Loved downtown, Nicollet Mall, St. Louis Park and all the wonderful lakes. But nothing lasts forever. Talk about time passing ...

Hey, what are the best camera shops in the Twin Cities, preferably west suburbs? I'm going to be in town and will probably have that "vacation itch" to drop some money on a new lens or other toy. Appreciate any tips for good shops, new/used, gadgets, etc.

This is the best and closest to where I live, which is in the Western suburbs. It's a very nice store and has a lot of used stuff. It's at the 'corner' of Hwy 169 and Hwy 55.
