Couldn't find a 2019 Christmas thread here, so here's mine :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

(Btw. Situation with my wife is not good, but manageable at the moment. Not looking forward for next year)

Very sorry about your wife, Henk-Jan. It must be tough on both of you.

Have a nice Christmas

I had a weird Christmas so far. We went skiing (my favorite !!) in the morning. By lunchtime all the Christmas revelers were on the slopes so it was too dangerous to continue skiing, too many little kids falling over in front of you in the last moment!!

We came home earlier than we expected and I checked Ricardo (Swiss eBay) for my watched sales. There was one, the used Sony A7R III about to finish in 18 minutes. I went down and talked to my husband - maybe I should get it after all and forget A7R IV. He said yes so I put my maximum bid at 1800 CHF ($US 1830) and I won it!

The camera does not have Swiss warranty as it was purchased in Honolulu but it is only 4 months old with less than 6000 photos taken. The thing that made it really weird is that the owner was traveling from their home in Basel to their holiday apartment near Sion and we were on their way. So by 5pm they arrived with the camera and now I am the proud owner of Sony A7R III !

I still can't believe it. One of the best Christmas presents I ever had :) And they were really nice people.

My daughter arrived from Japan yesterday with 2 friends. Last time I saw her she was 6 (now 17). I prefer to call Xmas "Winter Solstice" but either way it's going to be a very happy one, looking forward to the new year as 2019 has not been great. x

Much love & happiness to all of you on here, long may DPC continue to provide a great community platform to showcase Photography.
