I will be in SFO between 25th o Dec to 31st of Dec and I rent a car and going to roam around the city and bridges. I found a few parking spots around Golden gate bridge. A few questions:

1. What all areas I can visit?
2. What about parking in those areas?
3. I want to go to Yerba Buena Island, not sure if there is way to park over there, if so then where?

Last:

Who all are in SFO and I can meet, I met a few in NYC area and none in that area and since this is going to be my first visit to west, I would love to meet or possible hang out :)

For a less-usual view of the GG Bridge go out by Land's End (search for "Cliff House") where you can see the bridge from the ocean side, as well as local landmarks such as the Camera Obscura, Seal Rocks, and the ruins of the Sutro Baths*. From there you can descend along the Great Highway and access Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park and the Zoo.

I believe there is parking near Crissy Field and new pedestrian access from there to the bridge ... check out Golden Gate National Recreation Area (part of the National Park Service) for likely photo-ops ...

*In the unlikely event the air is very clear you may be able to see the Farallon Islands on the horizon.

I'm on the other side of the Bay, but it should be easy enough to meet near a BART station -- there's plenty of touristy interesting maritime stuff within walking distance of the Embarcadero station.

I will ping you when I am there to see when we can meet. I will be driving from San jose and I might take route via fremont and that would be easy to have stop over and meet you.

Mmmm, Cliff house! Very fond memories of the lunch my wife and sfalice had there in 2011. Hard to believe she's been gone over a year.

The camera obscura is fun, and the view of the bridge is awesome.
