Not sure why my image gets hammered but everyone seems to give a 4 or 5.
14 votes 5.02 (and that's the highest average till now)
I would like to have a critique on this image after the voting week

Mine isn't doing as well as hoped either. Most of the early voters have been harsh, though I gave a lot better than I'm getting.

It's the big UNKNOWN Georges.
In one my my current posts my entry went form 4 @ 7.5 to 5.3
In the FS from 6.5 to 5.5 in no time.
Don't let yourself affected by this inexplicable thing.

I'll start voting today and hopefully all marks will go up.

i asked for a critique on some of my images in the last few months but didnt get any feedback ..
so i wrote to the site council asking if it was still a thing ..

Robert wrote back ..
"I have never paid much attention to Critique Club since it was not part of my SC remit, but I used my admin tools just now to port over and take a look. You are correct to wonder if it's still a thing :-( Only one Crit has been made in 2019 and only 5 are in the queue, 2 of them yours... That's something we will have to look at :-(

My image is getting killed .it is now up to 5. This is especially tragic since I am so in love with it
and cannot understand how anyone could not be totally charmed and give it less than a 6. I am taking
this personally and may kill myself if does not make the front page.

After more than 1000 entries, I've grown a skin thicker than a rhino. I understand that, when entering a bad image, it's not surprising to hoover in the brown territory. No sarcasm here Jane. I told before that I don't care for scores or ribbons. Taking pictures is pure fun for me, and entering challenges gives me the drive to search what I would never shoot if not for the DPC challenges. Taking pictures is my hobby for almost 40 years. The response in the Free study judged by the low votes is something that I like so I can improve on future challenges. But first I want to know why, because on this particular image I was totally wrong, that's why I already asked for a critique once the challenge is over.

I hear you George. I was sort of joking..I actually do know why mine is a 5 but nevertheless I love
it.

Is it just me, or does it seem like only the jerks that have 1248 ribbons say this crap?

LOL!!!

Maybe it's the subject matter?

Back to this.
Can I have some critique on my entry? Constructive or destructive are both appreciated :))
What I tried to do was to emulate the 10 minutes later warmer sunset as the 2 other pictures.

As someone who gave it a 5, for me it was overprocessed. As I look through the tree and at the edges there is no color, just a halo from overstructuring/overclarifying. That will get a 5 from me every time. Had you taken the time to hide it I'd have overlooked the structuring of the clouds, which when looking at the original was not as bad as the final made it seem. This is a shot that should be more dreamy than HDR in the processing for me. Still not something I would have given a lot more, but if you're looking for a critical assessment it's the wash between the clouds and the horizon that I nicked you for.
