Lynn, why don't you want to splurge on a new EM-1 Mark II? I think it's worth it. Many improvements, and feels like a more solid camera. I also had issues with my EM-1 (the back dial started skipping badly, had to send it for warranty repair, it worked for a while and now is doing the same thing). No issues with mark II so far.

Thanks. I have the Mark II but the problem is that I still use CS6 and the newer RAW files are not supported, so I don't use it much. And it's just enough bigger in size that I prefer the smaller original. I'm sorry to hear that you also have had issues with it too because I really want to stick with Olympus. I'm pretty sure Roz has said she had issues with both versions.

The reason I got this camera in the first place had a lot to do with the fact that all the controls are similarly placed to the big Canon. I'm very such a creature of habit and get frustrated easily when it comes to technology. My husband really likes the PENF but knows it wouldn't work for me. My fear is that I'll find another one but it won't be new either and won't last long.

Penny .. if you want persevere with the mk2 .. its easy to convert the RAW files to DNG files that will be supported by CS6 ..
but when you select the folder that the RAW files are in to be converted .. you see no RAW files .. they arent visible .. the converter converts every RAW file in that folder .. xx

As long as we have a bunch of Olympus users together in one thread, perhaps someone else has seen something similar....

Ran into a weird thing. I bought a new Android tablet and want to be able to use it to review my shots on a plane. I found that with an OTG card reader, it is inconsistent on being able to read the cards from my cameras. Right now I tried 4 cards, 2 shot in the EM-1 and 2 shot in the PM2. Only one of the EM-1 cards will mount to the tablet file system.

All cards are readable in a PC and all files can be read just fine if I copy them off to some other media first. Just can't always mount the cards.

Hmm, never happened to me... On the other hand, I've never tried to mount SD cards on an Android tablet, so it might explain that ))

Are all the cards the same size and type, eg 32gb sdhc vs 128gb sdxc, etc? It's possible that the Android tablet and/or reader might not support the higher speed modes or the larger cards due to filesystem/format limits. The other possibility is that the tablet might not be able to consistently output the power needed to run a normal usb card reader directly (or might only be able to when charging/fully charged), so you might want to try using an externally-powered card reader or a powered USB hub between the tablet & reader.

Good troubleshooting tips, thanks.
