I was thinking about selling my A7R II and RX10 II and getting A7R IV but now I have to leave it till prices go down in Switzerland. Normally the prices here are quite good, basically equivalent to the US prices but not for A7R IV!!

Before the release the price was ~3500 US$ as on the US site:
https://www.sony.com/electronics/interchangeable-lens-cameras/ilce-7rm4

Now it is 4498 CHF ($4539):
https://www.sc-schweiz.ch/fr/shop/categorytitle/alpha-ilce-7rm4-body/190

Has anyone already got it? Is it really worth the upgrade from A7R II and also A7 III?

Left me feeling a bit sad that I had bought the A7Riii only in March this year. Can't possibly justify the upgrade at this point. :(

For your kind of photography and not being into video (or at least is what I'm assuming) A7RIII it would be a super upgrade anyway. A7RIV is an amazing upgrade for people who needs super crops and video eye tracking, but for the other specs A7RIII is still a beast. A7RIII is better than your in several fields: batteries, AF, second SD slot, EVF, pixel shift, joystick, better body. Of course if you can afford the A7IV go with, but if you want to save 7-800 euros/dollars to with the A7RIII!

Thanks, Alex. The thing I like the best about A7R IV is ability to do super crops. I had this theory long time ago that some images could be turned into many different images by cropping.

My A7 III already has the bigger battery, second SD slot etc I think most of A7R III features you mentioned with the exception of resolution.
