I've been having difficulty getting the SD cards from my Olympus cameras to show up on my Android tablet (Galaxy tab A 9.7") I thought maybe my OTG card reader was flaky, but a new one behaves the same. I determined that it is something about the formatting of the Olympus cards. A card from my Canon G7x or a flash drive both show up in the tablet's filesystem without trouble.

I know there aren't a lot of Olympus owners here, but thought maybe someone else has had a similar issue. Thanks

I'm sure you looked, but is there a software update for the tablet? (or for the driver for the reader?

Tablet has taken updates recently, and several readers have been tried. Can't find anything with a web search. Next step is to see if I format it in my PC, if it will work in both camera and tablet. At least I've narrowed down the problem.

I'd like to be able to review my shots while on a plane. I've got a pretty goood RAW viewer for android, and it works great if I use my laptop to transfer the files to the tablet beforehand. It just can't see the Olympus card.

That seemed to do the trick. I formatted a card in my PC and after taking a shot on my PEN, it showed up on the tablet. Now to see if that works on the E-M10 as well.

I guess I just need to format my memory cards in the computer from now on.

Weird thing is, I didn't even do a full format, just a quick format, which is essentially just erasing the file list. Must be something the Olympus cameras don't do to the card.

Maybe not. Second card I did it to doesn't read in the camera now.

Nah. I'm sure Sony has it's own issues. Pretty happy with the Olympus. I'm sure I'll eventually move to FF mirrorless, once things settle and prices come down to my preferred level of cheapo.
