Beautiful.
Not the first time I've said it but EMPATHY should be a religion.
I teared up watching this - I can only imagine someone photographing me doing so LOL.

This is why I try not to do street photography! ;)

I prefer to use models (my husband, my brother's in law brother etc :) like Fan Ho did with some of his photos. He used his cousin in this shot:

I have taken quite a few of my signature photos of people I met on the street. I’m an empath, and know immediately on making eye contact with someone, whether or not the person could use a friend or just anyone to “see” them. So many times, I smile compassionately at people and move on. BUT... this I know: there ARE people on the street that are lonely and longing to be seen, like a normal person. To have a conversation with someone truly interested in their story. Someone who doesn’t judge them, but encourages them. One man... matter of fact, he is my 2nd highest rated photo. I developed somewhat of a long term friendship with him when he lived at the park I visited during my lunch hour when I worked at a real job. Fast forward several years. I hadn’t seen him because I quit my job... and I get an email from a stranger who told me my street friend had died. He told me that before my street friend died, he asked this guy to find me and let me know he died, but that I was the kindest person he’d ever met.

Some of the rude, brazen guys snapping pictures without permission... yes... rude! But don’t rule out street photography. It can be a blessing to BOTH people!!

I dunno...... it's really common sense and has less to do with photography than it does with being a decent human being. A lot of the best street photography is the connection between the photographer and the subject and how he/she visually tells the story. On a base level you can use a simple rule..... don't be an invasive insensitive jerk.
