So -- everyone's always looking for more comments.
But then there are the people who get burned for making critical comments.
And there are the people who don't want critical comments -- they made the photo the way they like it, and we don't know anything if we criticize.
And you know all the other excuses/reasons/thoughts/etc.
So let's make it a teaching challenge. Only submit a photo if you want comments: positive, negative, harsh, wimpy, whatever. No complaining about comments.
And let make the comments, but as a teaching tool. If you like the photo, explain WHY it works for you. What about it hit the right chord? Why did it matter?
If you don't like it, don't say "it just doesn't work for me." WHY doesn't it work for you? What is lacking? What could have been modified a bit to make it better? Could anything have made it better?
The people who comment are the professors in this class. Teach us according to your ideals. We may not agree, but we'll have greater insight.
We just need a topic. Nothing too terribly narrow so that more people can participate.
Maybe even an additional rule that you will be DQ'd after the challenge is over, if you didn't comment on at least 10% of the challenge. |
