| I was contemplating the submission of one of my photos (my first), however, I don't know how to get the required information. For example, Aperture, ISO and Shutter speed. I didn,t know those things applied with a digital camera. I know, ignorance isn't a good excuse, but I'm guilty. |

Hey...welcome to DPC...
This information is known as EXIF information on digital cameras. Your camera supports EXIF, so in order to extract this information you will need to download an program to extract the EXIF information.
I use ExifReader which you can download for free from the link that i have given you. Another one is PIE Exif Extracter.

You can also use Photoshop to get the info or even the supplied Canon software should be able to provide this. I'm not sure but maybe even Photoshop Elements can do this, as well.

| Also know that you do not have to enter all that information. If you dont know the info then you can leave it blank and still enter the image. |

You can leave the original file alone but use one of the photo editing software applications to compress the image so it fits the file size requirement (150kb) and the pixel dimensions (longest side of 640 pixels). Take a look at Photoshop Elements and some of the other applications to help you get started and look for tutorial books on those applications as well.
The Canon A80 is a 4MP camera and as long as you have the room on your CF cards, I'd suggest you set the camera to the largest pixel size and highest quality possible. This way you maximize the camera's sensor and have the highest quality photos the camera can produce. You can always crop what you don't want and compress the image a bit to fit challenge requirements. Now if you're using the CF card that came with the camera, look into buying a higher capacity card as their prices have dropped considerably.
