I everybody, long time no see!
So, I've got a question... I have a friend who wants to buy full rights to my blue ribbon winner (the photo of Tris Imboden pointing at me). Tris and him are pretty tight and he wants to couple together with him to potentially make some money with it.
He works for Warner Bros. and I've no doubt that he can make it happen. I'd rather it go to him than anyone else.
Anyway, he wants to know how much I want for him to have full rights to it. I've googled and googled and can't find a number.
I could really use the money right now so I don't want to sell myself short.
Thanks in advance! I miss you guys and I'll be back in the challenges hopefully this week... looks like there's a LOT of them! |

It's a once-in-a-lifetime shot.
On a couple of levels. The shot is spectacular.
And you may never get another opportunity like this.
How much do you want? $5K? $10K? How much does something like this cost a studio when a privateer kicks one loose?
It will no longer be yours if he words the contract like a movie exec would.
You cannot negotiate up.

I asked for $9.5K.
I hope it doesn't backfire. Honestly, I'll be glad to see it in the hands of someone who can give it the exposure it deserves. Tris has a huge fan base.

I had some people approach me last year, really badly wanted to use a pic of mine for their business. Essentially they tried to bully me into giving them the rights to the pic - to my own intellectual property...lol
I very nicely told them to go get stuffed, that if they wanted to outright own the rights to the pic, free and clear it would cost them a few $k. (Think I quoted them $5k) However, if they simply wanted to pay me a modest royalty for the rights to use the pic for a limited amount of time and usage, they could, for a few hundred. Not surprisingly they opted for the latter :-)
So as I doubt Tris and co are hurting for cash, hope you get that nice healthy sum! Fingers crossed for you!
