What’s with the complication of adding new bling to your profile page, maybe it’s my memory playing up but I was sure adding something to the Bio section was easier before, surely this could be made easier? I have to sift through what looks like Chinese to find the last picture posted, what haven’t I understood?

Exactly where are you experiencing a problem? Maybe post a screen-shot of the problem area ...

Not so much of a problem but just a real tedious way of adding an image to the end of a list in my Bio, it's archaic and when the list is long it puts you off even trying. I'm probably missing something I'm sure?

Your layout looks different from mine, but the main "problem" is that the PHP code shortcuts we use to enter the info (in the square brackets, e.g. [thumb][/thumb] for a DPC picture link) are converted to "raw" HTML code once you save the page; that code is way longer ... I don't know how or if that can be changed.

If you are looking to place something in the Bio in conjunction with an existing image, you should be able to perform a "find" command for the image ID number to help locate it in the mass of code.

I added something to my profile page (actually, tried to insert it where it logically should have gone) some time ago and mucked up the page. Everything I did to fix it only made it worse so I gave up and left it as it is. Some of my posthumous bling has gone.

You might consider reconstructing your bio by re-writing it using Forum code in a separate text document and then replacing the entirety of the entry at DPC. If you keep the text file on your computer you can continue to update there, and keep replacing all the messy code here with revised Forum code each time.

That's one aspect of things that would be ripe for a change if and when the site ever modernizes. There's no reason it has to be that hard :-( But for now it is what it is. I've gone through the same struggle trying to place my own bling properly...

GeneralE has the right idea. Copy your bio with the copy all command and paste it into a word processor. Anytime you want to change anything, open the word document, make your additions or deletions, and save-as a dated copy (so you still have the original) and then copy/paste it into your bio section, overwriting the old one. It's a lot easier that way.

Clear as mud. Thanks.

Thanks everyone, I’ll do the copy paste thing when I can. Still don’t understand why it has changed in the last few months, it used to be just the image ID in numbers one after the other, now it’s a whole line of stuff then the number, makes it much harder.
