i'm using the olympus omd em1 mk2 .. and the RAW ORF files arent supported in the Photoshop CS6 camera RAW program .. and Adobe will not update camera RAW above 9.1 in CS6 .. if i could update camera RAW to version 9.9 i'd be laughing .. or so i believe .. ;)
i've updated the firmware on the camera .. and Adobe DNG converter is the latest version .. 11.2.0.135 ..

i have photoshop CC .. and can open the RAW ORF files in that program ..
but .. my computer struggles with CC .. if i try and use different plug-ins or filters .. especially Nik software .. it can send my cpu usage way up and also my ram .. so using CS6 is my best option at the moment ..

i'm running 64bit window7 .. with 16gb of ram ..

so this is what happens when i try and use the DNG converter ..
when i select a folder with RAW ORF files in it .. the RAW files aren't visible .. its as if they are not there ..
i have looked at utube videos and it seems like i've done everything right ...

so i am at my wits end .. i dont want to have to open CC to access the RAW files ..
does anyone have any ideas ..
hope i've given enough information ..

Have you tried opening in Lightroom CC? I'm assuming you would have that as it is bundled with PS CC in the "Photographer" pkg or bundle from Adobe.
I ran into similar issues with newer RAW files and wanting to keep using CS4. I can't remember how I dealt with it. I think I used LR to convert from RAW, make some adjustments and then deal with the resulting JPG in PS CS4.
Someone will be along that will be more help than me, no doubt. Best of luck, Roz.

thanks Ken .. i'm wondering if you can have lightroom CC open at the same time as CS6 ..
the trouble with using CC and CS6 is the time it takes to close one and open another etc etc ..
i will try lightroom altho i havent ever used it .. hope its easy .. !! .. ;)

Roz, have you tried using a slightly older version of the DNG converter programme? I have a slightly older computer (which works fine so no need to upgrade yet!) and had to use version 10.4 to allow me to install it on my old machine. I won't go into all the details of why I decided to use the DNG converter but that worked for me.

I don't use it much, but feel like I should for workflow when I have nearly a thousand pics to go through and edit. It is fairly easy to make adjustments to RAW files. Worth watching a tutorial video or two.

thankyou Sarah .. i just looked to see if i could find an older version .. as sometimes its difficult to find the older versions ..
i cant find where i could get it ..

also i did change what RAW programs the DNG converter is compatible with .. as its default was v11.2 and later .. so i made it 7.1 .. but still not working .. as it keeps reverting back to 11.2 .. i might have to restart the pc ..

Might not help, but Olympus has recently released a replacement for Olympus Viewer, called Olympus Workspace. Like everyone else, they have gone to a Lightroom-like interface. Perhaps it can do an easy batch conversion for you.

i went into the adobe community discussion ..
and copy and pasted the question i had posted here ..
i got a response within a couple of hours .
i'm going to put it in here in case anyone else finds it helpful ..
i'm pretty much overjoyed . !!!! ..
now i can put the RAW png files into photoshop CS6 and not have to muck around using other programs ..

This is how the DNG converter works, the raw files are not visible when you choose folder.

And it only works at the folder level, you cannot convert individual files, so it will convert all raw files in the folder.

In the screenshot below, the Temp folder contains 59 raw files, but they are not visible.

So just make sure that you are choosing the correct folder, then click Select.

i dont think ppl need to see the screenshot to realize what he was talking about .. :)
