Voting has started really low lately, Most of my photos start in the fours these days.

Ouch. You could consider turning off your scores for a bit. Otherwise, consider them in the past, and go out and shoot for one of the upcoming challenges.

Low Scores have been bothering me for a while now and I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done. Obviously brilliant photographs are being scored as 2 or 3, presumably by someone either wanting to help their own chances for a ribbon, who is legally blind, or unaware of the normally accepted characteristics of a Good Photograph.

Not that everyone isn't entitled to their own opinions, but c'mon....I suppose it all works out if said low-scorer scores EVERYONE low....the rest of us will just pick up the slack by scoring images the way they "should be" scored.

I've been searching for old forum discussions about this (I know there are some....)….I'd like to know what others have said about this issue, IF everyone else considers it an issue as I do. Do you?

Indeed, probably several thousand ...

As long as people vote "fairly" which -- to me -- means giving images of similar quality and composition the same score, rankings will be unaffected. If you can concentrate on whether "better" photos finish higher than "worse" photos rather than the absolute score you will probably feel better.
