This new “in the style of” challenge seems to direct us to imitate Barth only in her latest “style” in her Artists of Rhythm collection, which catches things in the periphery.

However, she seems to have had multiple “styles”.

Please clarify - current style, or anything from her entire body of work?

I think you're confusing subject matter with "style". Her entire body of work is cohesive, imo.

And whoever suggested this challenge, thank you.

for anyone else not getting her “style” from looking at her images, here is one breakdown

Uta Barth

i guess this would summarize: “Barth’s photography isn’t about what is seen in the photograph; it’s about the very act of seeing.”

Funny that... When I saw her work I thought of you.

She needs to get out of the house more :)

No seriously some of her stuff is quiet interesting. I see things in my home all the time I wish to photograph, thinking it has appeal, but not to the masses.

Good challenge for those who need to get out of their comfort zone, me included.

I have a fitting image. Pity it was shot 12 years ago... ;)

Seems like this should have been a minimal editing challenge:)

This is a TOUGH one! I've taken many. They vary from too sharp to too blurry to too formless to not formless enough to too busy to too boring . . . I am getting nowhere!

But at least I'm getting there fast!!

A particularly difficult style to emulate

I suspect it will be even harder to emulate in a manner that scores high on DPC.

I agree. I may just go with one I like rather than one I think is in her style. Seems to me she would approve :)

I’m very impressed also due to the fact that she is quite alternative. Looking forward to seeing all the photos that people have come up with. I too have thought how much more difficult she is to emulate, than it seemed from the get go. I did manage to fluke a photo right from the beginning, not sure how It’ll go though.Trying not to have high expectations.

Seriously odd challenge. Odd in the way that there seem to be four ways of style. Out of focus and in focus. Sharp angles or soft angles.

To dry sneeze or wet sneeze, very odd. But I think everyone captured her essence in a way.

Well done everyone!!!!

I suspect one of my outtakes might have done better, but I picked the one I liked best.
