I am having problems with resizing my images for challenges. I did raise this a short while ago.
I down load the image to PS CS3 and process as normal, I have the camera set to L14m.
to ccapture the photo up to recently no problems.recently I changed this setting to
M 7.4 thinking a smaller Image would solve thos problem, but it persists,
I uploaded today only to The message your image exceeds the 7000. limit so a lower quality image has not solved my problem,.
I am bald so ripping w\my har out will not help. My camera is a SONY A550.which I have been using for 8 or so years.
I am your basic Luddite so peaples where to from noe, Back to the Brownie?
I save my images to web etc But have I perhaps reset some thing in photo shop?

I'm not sure what those settings mean (not familiar with your camera). But if you are "capturing" a smaller image that won't really help since you'll have to resize the image anyway.
You might want to check out this ancient tutorial -- the values for pixel dimensions and file size need to be updated to current values (160-1200 px, 700kb) but I think the procedure is still correct. |

It should not matter what size/quality you have set in camera. What matters is the settings when you go to save your image for upload to DPC. I suggest that unless you need to conserve space, capture the highest quality image you can in camera.
Once you are done with editing in Ps, save your high-quality image at full resolution. This way, should you need it for non-DPC uses, you have the high-resolution edit. Next, reduce the image size to 1200px on the longest side and save for DPC. In CS3, the appropriate way is to use "Save For Web" and to set the quality to whatever gives you a size just below the 700 kilobyte limit. |
