hi everyone ..
its the 1st March 2019 here in australia so i will get this thread kicked off ..
i'm putting all the info from the sign up thread here so its all in one place ...

WE ALL HAVE OUR INDIVIDUAL THEMES .. some more specific than others ..

so when we post .. it would be great if everyone could put their theme in when posting .. or in the comment section of each photo they post ..

also ... re comments .. its about giving and receiving .. ..

some ppl here will actually be looking for critiques on their photos .. so it would be good if you would specify that in each photo you post ...

this is not about posting every day .. its about posting what you can ..
as much or as litle as you want ..

i find these side challenges so inspiring .. so i'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with .. :)

some ppl expressed an interest in this side challenge but havent told me their themes .. just let me know anytime and i'll add it to the sign up thread and copy here

Also in cases where there are variations on a specific topic there should be details included. For example, my chosen topic WAS minimalist photography but my photos are more along the lines of black background macros. See, I knew all along! LOL

i see the side challenges as inspirational but also we can learn so much from each other ..
it would be helpful to include in the photo's comment the process you went thru to achieve the photo and how you edited it ..
there maybe ppl who just want to post a photo and let the viewer decide how it affects them .. and thats ok too ..
but if you are inclined to share your process that would be great ... i personally love to see the camera settings tho .. :)

My theme this month is FOOD AND EATING
I took during the years pics on this subject and thought of making a story. I like a lot visual stories and collection on a theme. Only that I gave up thinking that food photography is ubiquitous and done at a very high level. (well, everything has been done before) So I will just share with you images that had a resonance in my mind.

For start though, it's a little trio of jokes:
Glory to food
Questioning...
Eating kills

Changing theme/topic/whatever to Simplistic Imagery (hopefully that won't offend anyone)

Learning Photoshop might take me years rather than weeks so nothing from me at this stage. I hope I will have at least one half decent photo by the end of March! ;)

i'm sure anyone here would be happy to help with any questions you may have ..
also .. starting with things that are uncomplicated and not too difficult could be the way to go ..
i dont know your level of expertise .. so i wont make any suggestions re editing ..
but i learnt by just doing it .. as i had a short attention span if i tried to view tutorials etc ..
i did pick up various things on the way by googling etc .. and i'm sure there'd be 'better' ways to do things that what i do ...
and i'm always open to finding those things out ...

anyway ... its like anything on the computer .. if you dont do it and practice .. then any skills you acquire might fall by the wayside ..

Thanks, Roz. I am forcing myself through tutorials as I need to have the basics. I will try one type of photo soon and post for advice.

Post your stuff as you are progressing, doesn’t have to be a masterpiece to be appreciated here, we will be happy to look at it and comment.

Learning Photoshop - Multi Exposure for Painterly Effect, Try 1

I created multiple layers of the same image then moved each slightly with reduced opacity. Are there any actions/presets for Photoshop that do this?
