You definitely would have taken the Blue if your title had been Snafu.

Yeah, wasn’t familiar with this purely North American acronym so I had to look it up, the first thing that popped up’was « All fucked up »
Thanks for the compliment.

No it's me that has to thank you for the compliment seeing that you complimented me first.

OK -- let's talk about the merits (or lack thereof) of the challenge suggestion, and not about each other.

The common interpretation of the acronym does present an increased possibility of conflict with the site TOS ...

No really, this newly discovered word will be flying off my tongue from now on so please accept my gratitude.

I'd really like to know why it is Jagar that you chose to make a personal attack on me. Have I perhaps in the past on this site somewhere, somehow offended you in any way?
Because what you said Quote "We had a self portrait challenge not long ago" Unquote was very snide and underhand and uncalled for and implies that I should have entered the self portrait challenge as I am that word that popped up when you went and looked for it.

In any case Jagar it brings back bad memories and a bad taste in my mouth as this is exactly the kind of thing I was subjected to a few years ago here on DPC and now you start with it again. Whenever I posted anything, whether it was a suggestion or an opinion on something I was frequently attacked and smeared through the mud by certain individuals. It got so bad my mental health started suffering and I took a long break away from this site. I recently returned again hoping that I could participate in a nice and friendly atmosphere and for a while it went well until now with you targeting me in this post and also in my previous post where I made a suggestion concerning the voting system. This is not why I rejoined and if this is the general atmosphere that now prevails here on DPC I shall be on my way again but for good this time as I really cant take this anymore and refuse to be "dehumenised" here again as happened the previous time.

Hey, when I said a self portrait challenge I was thinking only of me. I looked up your word and found all fucked up and thought, wow a selfie challenge. Nothing was being said against you or towards you and I’m sorry if you thought otherwise, obviously I must have touched a nerve but there was no intention. It was supposed to be a laugh at my own expense.

Actually I must say that I find it utterly amazing that you thought I was pointing at you, incredible.

Ok that's a relief then...I wish you had made that clear....anyway so I must apologise again to you for having jumped to a wrong conclusion of what you meant and my incorrect interpretation. No worries...I'm glad I was wrong then and therefore gladly apologise. Sorry. My psychiatrist says I am slightly autistic and have symptoms of Aspergers syndrome.

No problem, basically I was trying to suggest that we are all a bit fucked up.

If SC would have it, snafu would be a good idea for a challenge.

Jagar already said it that there was no intent to offend anyone.

I'd like to emphasize this: I understood his post as a witty remark on your suggestion - self portraits would meet the snafu-challenge, but we hat that recently. I understood it purely as a joke, nothing personal on you at all.

Btw, the Urban Dictionary: snafu explains where the term originated.

Bjoern you are running behind the conversation here....Jagar and me had already sorted out the misinterpretation and now you come along after the fact. You obviously didn't read the whole thread as otherwise you would have seen that everything was aleadry sorted out and that I had apologised to Jagar for having misunderstood his intent.

By the way do a search for all the DPC forums for the word SNAFU and you will see it has been used here often....it's highlighted in red letters.

I think we can have a SNAFU challenge without upsetting the TOS. It's much more tasteful than a FUBAR challenge.

Maybe split the difference with TARFU?

While I was in the military we used the term SNAFU quite often. If it was between guys it was F'd up, but when there were ladies present it was 'Situation Normal, All Fouled Up'. Means the same but with a different word to make it more politically correct. It actually probably started Fouled and not F'd!
