Ok -- my Sony a6500 really gets sensor dust extremely easily. It's little shaking movement doesn't help much.

Am I going to screw up my camera if I watch the videos and clean the sensor myself?

I did it on my A6000 with a kit I bought on Amazon. It was easy. Nerve wracking but easy!!!

I clean my sensor almost every time I return from a desert shoot. I used to pay this camera store about $60 to do it, but after I did it once, I got way more comfortable with it. Most of the time the little air squeeze nozzle does it, but occasionally I'll use the custom pads. One wipe left to right. Never had to use the liquid solution.

I clean mine with a puffer brush as well I replaced the brush with a length of plastic tubing pushed into the puffer gives an extra force to the puffer

Interesting that this came up now because I asked about dry cleaning my sensor at a camera shop last week and was told the only way to do it was with wet swabs. I'd read online about activating a brush using a blower so I wanted to buy a decent brush but I came away with nothing.

My one attempt at wet cleaning (years ago) was unsuccessful and I've never tried again. Besides the shop didn't have swabs for micro four-thirds.

APS-C Frame (CCD/CMOS) Digital... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K8MTPEW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
This is the kit I bought. You have to buy the right size for your camera.
It worked great.

I was so afraid the first time I did it!

But, it was easy!

I just use my humid breath on a CLEAN Q-tip. Give it a good "hhhhhhuuuuuuu" to moisten the tip and go at it... gently.

That's one of the things I was having a hard time finding. It said to buy the right size, but it wasn't quickly obvious what I was looking for...

I'll have to check out the link.

Ok... ok... they might have been the fancy, photog kind. I put them in a baggie and haven't used all of them.

So what did you finish using, Wendy? I got a recommended puffer and used the camera Cleaning Mode but that did not get rid off all of the dust. I am about to get a shop to do it for about $60 but I wouldn't like to pay this too often. So what did you do with your 6500?

No, unless you use sandpaper or a Q-Tip.

I got a VSGO cleaning kit on Amazon, for about $20 on Amazon, full frame or crop packages and can clean my sensor 12x.

See this video:
