All three ribbons in the recently finished FS are shot with a drone. Just an observation.

The European rules are about to change and everything will be easier in a few weeks.

If it will be after March 29, it will be too late for Paul ;)

Curious. Outside of flying skills and finding a good location, are there any challenges to this besides good post-processing (and $$$ to buy one)? The drone cameras are pretty much point&shoot, yes? Or can you actually control settings like aperture, shutter speed, iso, etc...?

If you don't consider the super entry level ones, you can control everything. Mavic creates a DNG file you properly edit, not like a RAW of a modern camera but you can surely a lot of stuff. As for the manual setting you can't control the aperture (but the sensor is quite small and when you find the right point everything is in focus) but you can control ISO value and shutter speed. So it's more or less the same of shooting with a real camera

I love my Mavic Pro. It's the first drone that I've had where the camera is "good enough", and it's so small I can take it with my other gear anywhere. Does anyone have the Mavic Pro 2? I've read it has a 1" CMOS sensor, Hasselblad glass and adjustable aperture. My birthday is coming up, wondering if theres really a significant difference ;)

I've seen footage of the brand new Mavic Pro 2 waitingsilence has recently bought. Files look MUCH better than the Mavic Pro ones.

I'd probably be doing a public service to DPC's various and long-suffering spouses/significant others if I hid this thread :-)

Just had the discussion with the wife about how my year-old drone needs to be replaced. My wife agrees with you :)

You are in trouble my friend... as soon as you see our Inspire 2 in Dubai you will fall in love with it and it will be difficult to explain why you really need to update a 1k drone with a 8k one ^_____________^

ETA: Can we create a hidden section called "photographers' secrets"? You need 3 password to enter it. It would save a lot of weddings.

Be careful ... people in Cleveland associate drones with blood for some reason ...

To late, I bought a DJI Mavic Air. Just haven't had time to play with it much due to work. I also work at or near various airports so that makes it tough!

I’m waiting for my other half to fix his drone problems. Then I’m going to steal it.....I mean ‘borrow ‘ it.....

Those not prone to drones might want to check out the venerable Kite Aerial Photography ...

I have been told I'm prone to droning on and on. Frequently :-)
