I’ve looked up pictures, WEB and tutorials. And I just don’t get it...guess I’m just slow this month???

Can you please explain it better to me...

Different films often provided a unique "look" to their photos -- an image shot on Fuji Velvia(?) would look different from the same scene shot on KodaColor or a Polaroid, due to differences in how they reproduce grain, color, contrast and saturation.

The idea of the challenge is to process your image so it looks typical of one shot with a particular film. Hope that helps ...

I've found that my film work is often characterised by:

1. Much greater resilience in the highlights (an absence of clipping)
2. (Broadly) lower contrast
3. Colours are distinctive, sometimes giving an overall wash effect.
4. Grain is quite visible

There are plenty of pieces of software that emulate various emulsions - just choose one you like.

Basically, everyone puts a filter over their photo. Easy way, edit your photo, go to NIK and stick a filter over it or find an overlay that you can stick on it. Hard satisfying way, go into Image and use or add grain, curves, add noise, adjust colours, tones, vibrancy, highlights, contrast etc etc.

Basically, take a 2018-9 photo and make it look like it was taken in the 1920-40's.

That is how I see it anyways.

Think more Humphrey Bogart versus Aqua Man.

Now that is a sequel I would go to the theater for.
