Since Tuesday is2019 how about "best art of 2018". Maybe Don is up to pulling a jury together so we could begin
the year with some inspiration?

Always a good challenge for something abstract that I couldn't shoehorn into another topic.

This would be great!!!

I suggest an informal volunteer jury. I'd be happy to start a thread where people could pick their favorites and write about why they like them. That's really the only thing a jury means to me anyway.

That sounds great if you will begin the thread, Don.

Maybe we could still do this? To me they are two very different things.

So people can do whatever they want when creating their art. Isn't that what art is about?

Unfortunately, on this site when it says extended edit and you enter minimal you get dinged. IMO, the voters want to see something that looks photoshopped. That's different than capturing art in camera.
Since you've already put extended out there, I would like to see a minimal or standard edit Best of as well. Please.

Best of needs to be standard as most of us(ME!!!) do not shoot in RAW & JPEG...therefore there would hardly be any entries for Best of 2018 that are shot in JPEG. JMO

So does that mean we can submit more than one exposure?

Can anyone on the site council please like to clarify my question, I know the challenge states;

“For this challenge you may enter any image shot by you in calendar year 2018 that has not already been used in a DPC challenge and for which you still possess a valid, unaltered original file.”

But we all know for extended editing challenges we can use more than one exposure, is this the case in this challenge also?

Yes - that’s part of the Extended rule set. All of them must be from 2018 though.

I do not think it should be extended editing. I think it should be standard; the distinction being that it is composed in camera
and not on the computer.

Doesn't matter. Too late now. The liberals strike again.

in a time where we are digging desperately to find challenge topics, doesn't it make sense to revel in this one... twice?
