What I'd like to do for my resolution is re-edit some photos that I over-edited back when I first started using Lucisart. I have some pics that I really love but just went overboard on. I cringe when I see them now.

I'm in. I can use this to track my reactions to various changes I plan to make in my life. So I'll call it "Moods" for now.
And no, it won't be all SPs. *listens for the cries of disappointment...*

I’m in. This time I will do large format black and white film. My new large format camera (Intrepid) hasn’t arrived yet and it will be the first time I have used a large format or developed or scanned large format so I may only post a couple of images during the month as I figure everything out but I will try to comment as much as I can.

You can update my Resolution to indeed be "Use the real camera".

I think I'll focus on editing shots from our little December beach break. Break became literal. I took some shots whilst standing on a 2' high rock. When I jumped down onto the wet sand I lost my footing and fell. I fractured a bone in my hand and have it plastered, so I won't be taking all that many new shots. I had my Panasonic in my hand and it got a good dose of sand but my husband did a brilliant job of cleaning it up. It still works.

Such a spacious, intriguing, juicy challenge. Great idea Rachel and Karen, you're gold. Though this is an acceptance thread, I'll contribute to it in order to regrettably decline to participate. This January I'll be on grand jury duty and, I'm told, can't even bring a camera to court. I feel it wouldn't be right to spend my time at home hunkered over the computer, to the exclusion of married life. And it certainly would be draining to pursue my original challenge intention, "31 Views of Mt. Fuji." The constant shuttle would hamper my ability to attain the proper contemplative state in Japan and then settle into the necessary Solomonic temperament to dispense justice back in NYC. That's one small loss for the photographer, one immeasurable loss for Photography.
In any case, the month will still be interesting for me, if anyone cares. An intimate look at the byways of human contention. The foibles of daily life. The majesty of Divine Judgement. Oh wait, that's a different province. An illuminating peek at what life may have been had I not dropped out of law school in a moment of clarity. The same friend who told me I couldn't bring a camera to court also apprised me that questions from the jurors are allowed during procedures. I'm looking forward to asking, at an appropriate moment, "who put the bop in the bop shoo bop shoo bop?" It may not be nuanced, but the obvious follow-up is "who put the ram in the rama lama ding dong?" Just two examples of the penetrating legal acumen that led to a deviation from the calling. Anyway, it'll take all my concentration to walk the thin line between righteous rage and tender mercy.
Hopefully I will find time to enjoy the images of the challenge participants, maybe make some comments. There will surely be many, many wonderful pictures.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to one and all.

Welcome to the new joins, and I hope your feeling better Marion...ouch! Rich, we look forward to your comments when time allows. Grand jury duty can be interesting, more so than sitting for a single trial.

I have computer access again for a few days, so feel free to keep joining and updating your chosen themes. We have about one more week to decide.

Please add me in. I failed in the November challenge as work kept getting in the way. Stuff work; 2019 is MY year....! I'm going to pick 'water' as the theme because it's likely to be a subject I can adapt to wherever work sends me. And at some point I'll play with shutter speed and landscape- both areas I shy away from!

Our road trip over the holiday awakened my dormant resolve to capture the things I love about trees. So trees will be my topic for this side challenge.

Marion, So sorry to hear about your hand being in plaster and I'm glad your husband was able to clean up the camera. I've discovered the hard way that even slightly wet sand is deceptively slippery!! I have worsening arthritis at the base of my left thumb, yet none in my right one, my dominant hand. I've concluded this was due to the number of times I've slipped on wet sand, have reflexively kept my right hand holding the camera clear of the ground and have taken the brunt of the fall on my left wrist.

I already signed up - don't think I'll do as well with my resolution as I did with Square and I fell apart the last 10 days in that one, too. I did, at least, finally go back and catch up on my comments. So I start the new challenge free from guilt . . . and inspired by some of the unexpected and moving square entries I finally experienced.

Sheesh! I've heard of artists stealing but this is over the top. Look forward to your take on this format.
