I am envious.

Me too. My "good" monitor died a couple of years ago and I still haven't replaced it.

And about TIME :-) Makes you cringe to look at some of the old entries dunnit?

I bought a 27" Benq for my recent PC build. Very happy with it, but it also showed me that the 21" NEC Accusync I had previously been using was pretty darn good as well.

Indeed, the NECs have always been really good. I have been pretty impressed by some of the reviews of the Benq monitors. I'm looking to score a 4k monitor for the desktop sometime soon, but haven't done much research as yet. It's funny that I've had 4k IPS on my laptop for 2 years now, and love it, even though it is only a 15.6" screen. It's actually where a large fraction of my editing gets done these days.

What laptop is that? I have a Lenovo think pad from work. I've tried using it to edit photos while traveling, and the screen is terrible for that. Can't really discern image quality or subtleties. May try using my tablet as a secondary monitor.

It's a Lenovo Yoga 710, what was the top of the line 2 years ago. 16GB RAM and discrete graphics (nVidia 940MX), but somewhat limited by a 2-core processor (i7-7500U). Current comparable model is the 730, which does have both more processor power and upgraded GPU. The top-end model now comes with a 1TB SSD.

Which did you get? I'm looking at the 27" $599 one. I'm just wondering if it's a big enough difference to the monitor I have now...?
