I very reluctantly signed up for the Adobe Cloud subscription about a year ago. Not a big user of PS and I don't use LR at all, but there are some features in PS I like so figured it was worth it to ensure I get the updates. I'm a die hard Apple Aperture user (which, by the way still works despite Apple withdrawing this product some years ago), which is why I don't use LR. LR is clunky and slow in comparison to Aperture.

I am now in the situation that unless I upgrade my operating system to macOS Mojave, I am no longer able to get any of the upgraded features for PS. My desktop computer is not compatible with Mojave as it's a 2011 iMac and Mojave is only compatible with post 2012 hardware. Nothing at all wrong with the computer, it runs perfectly, so not a chance that I'm going to buy a new computer due to this issue, but it irks me greatly. I have a laptop with the new OS and new PS, but that's not ideal.

I'm sure I can run the existing version of PS, but what's the point paying for a subscription if you can't update the software? grr.

I upgraded to Mojave but beside the black theme, I do not see much difference. I didn't feel like yup it works well! Though did find an issue with the PS not working properly with this. so the issue that I faced was that when I am creating a PS action and at the end I say I am done with whatever I want to do and now stop button is clicked. It crashes PS. I reached out to Adobe and they closed the ticket saying it is hardware issue :D I had this all working fine before the upgrade.

to add insult to injury now my Nik/google plugins won't work with the new PS 2019 (laptop). Not willing to spend another penny on those, at least until DxO do some upgrades. Having paid full price for them way back when, i don't want to spend any more cash.

ETA. It launches and you make adjustments, but then crashes when you select OK. grr

and another addition. I launched it via the select tool and it worked without crashing. That seems weird.

That was an issue with the Nik and Adobe integration even in 2018 version. One works and another one doesn't. for me it crashes too.

Just revisiting an older thread.
I came across a program that seems to ( maybe!) pick up where Aperture left off. RAW Power.
Apparently made from guys who worked on Aperture until its demise. They claimed to have kept ( and enhanced) the features that people liked about Aperture and continually worked on it and came up with ” RAW Power”. They have a mac app and an iPad app. It links in to Apple Photos and returns a lot of the functions of Aperture.
Has anyone used it and what are your thoughts?

I have RAW POWER and thus far its rather nice after a very shallow learning curve.
