Vegetable Bestiary has two fewer entries than Golden Shower Ratio. That means that a high position for your vegetable will mean MORE than a high position for your ratio. And everyone knows that vegetables are less worthy than ratios.

I am currently compiling pages of charts and graphs detailing the exact fractional bias of this numerical difference in order to prove that my point is more logical than yours.

A propos of nothing, really. I just looked through Vegetable Bestiary and laughed aloud, often in pure delight, much more often than I had expected to. Well done, people, whoever you are.

I picked up an eggplant at the grocery store the other day. I had already entered something but I thought, well, you never know, I may have some great inspiration and change my mind.
I brought it home and stashed it in the fridge.
Later, hubby comes along looking for a beer, opens the fridge, spies the eggplant. Closes the door.
"That's for one of your picture things, right? We don't have to eat it, right?" scared look on face.
Oh, how I love my small-town Alberta boy lol.

Bless his heart! My kids said the same thing. 'You are turning that into a mouse right? I hate DPC!, You are doing weird things with it right? Why are you fiddling with that mouses butt hole? WTF you doing with that mouses head? Do we have to eat it?

And I still failed to enter!!! LOLOLOL

Lol made me really chuckle~My husband has banned eggplant from the menu after one time I disguised it as veal parmigiana, husband would not eat it, middle son was gagging whilst trying to keep it down, and youngest son ate most of it until he realised it wasn't actually veal, still he finished it all, and to this day eats everything I cook without complaining!

Now back to the challenge, I didn't enter but was rather surprised to see some very good entries, well done peeps!

I really enjoyed voting, funny stuff.

(I still think the theme is dumb, of course)

:)

I doubt I've scored a challenge so highly in a long time (if ever) and I will be along to bump a few shots later in the week. Daft theme or not, some excellent work.

In light of the success and appeal of this challenge, how about "Animals That Look Like Vegetables"?

Haha! We darned near scheduled that at rollover just out of sheer contrariness.

I love how an "iffy" entry is instantly transformed into an animal just by reading the title.

And then you can't unsee the animal :)

Well done, everyone. So much imagination.

No kidding! And, FWIW, in my experience "daft themes" often DO inspire excellent work.

So, this thread was started as clear sarcasm toward another member of the DPC. I believe the proper thing to do is to lock it.

I'm even more impressed by how many of them worked without the title.

Ehhh, I don't think so. The other thread wouldn't have had to have been locked if the OP had calmed down once he'd had his first vent. Nobody's piled on (yet) in this thread, so it seems innocuous enough. That's just my opinion, of course, but...

I admit I was being sarcastic towards what I feel was a mean-spirited thread, and I would understand if my thread were locked. That being said, the responses have been very positive, generous, non-attacking, and non-sarcastic.

I've renamed the thread to reflect us happily discussing the challenge,
