Forgive me if this has been asked before.
I subscribe to Lightroom and Photoshop - I use it fairly extensively - therefore don�t have an issue with � subscription�.
My wife has been using Aperture up to now. But now needs her own management system ( Aperture has now reached its end of life).
We live in the same household - different computers. But she needs her own mangement system. Is there any way we can arrange a � family � subscription without sharing libraries ?

I share with my wife, i�m fairly certain that you can use your subscription on 2 computers.

I agree...but when you talk to Adobe...just tell them you have 2 computers don�t meantion who�s is who�s...

Adobe doesn't care about who. They only care about how many.

You can have LR/PS installed on as many computers as you want...2, 3, 20. BUT, Adobe will only let you use it on TWO at a time. So, you have to login to your Adobe account and remove it from one computer in order to use it on a different third computer. You don't lose your files or anything other than the ability to run the software.

So - could she login with her own account ? I suspect not but please clarify.
If she logs in under my name will our two (different ) libraries be kept seperate ?

I'm pretty sure the libraries are specific to the machine not the account UNLESS you synch. I have never synched, so my desktop machine doesn't know about the LR library on my laptop... For whatever that's worth...

Sorry - still trying to get my head around this .
�BUT, Adobe will only let you use it on TWO at a [i]time[/i].�
So if I install it on her machine ( under my Adobe ID) - her libraries will be seperate from mine. We also can use Lightroom at the same time as each other ? Correct ?

Yes, this is my understanding and experience - BUT I am using using LR Classic CC. Not sure about the cloud-based version.

It's the same with the cloud-based version. And "at a time" is not defined as meaning "simultaneously in real time", it means the program can only be ACTIVATED on two machines at any given time. So if I have, say, a desktop, a laptop, and another, more portable laptop, and I have LR installed and activated on the first two, then it can be installed but NOT activated on the third machine. Meaning that if I want to use it on the small laptop, I need to go onto one of the other two machines and deactivate LR. The program remains, the libraries remain, and so forth, but you can't USE it until you deactivate one of the two active installations and reactivate the third one. Does that make sense?

When you try to operate LR on a 3rd machine, you'll be blocked with a message that you're reached your limit and must deactivate on one of the other two machines.

To reiterate, you don't lose anything.

Your wife will be sharing your account, but nothing gets mixed from one machine to another, unless you choose to sync.

Thanks for all the responses and information.
I think the wife is going to have to let Aperture go ( tist a shame).
She will have to either use iPhoto or Lightroom.
