Hi guys!

I've just completed a huge time-lapse photography project and I thought about sharing it with you :)

Since the Gargano has given birth to many of the pictures I've entered in the past 2 years or so (more or less successful) I thought about sharing this work with you.

Firs of all I need to thank my spiritual guru, our beloved alexkc for all the encouragement and the support he gave me through all the shooting time, doing everything by myself not knowing the places has been pretty rough.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFrl-5pxAAc

This is the trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GRl5uluP64&t=22s

The Gargano is a sub-region of the italian peninsula located in in Puglia (southern Italy).
It took me more than nine months of location scouting and shooting to get all the sequences I wanted (and, of course, a lot of them got cut out) and almost a month and a half of editing, with LRTimelapse, Lightroom and Premiere to get it done.

The entire project is made of almost 100.000 pictures shot during over 50 sessions and I've also created a wide photo gallery to go along with the video.

I've also composed the soundtrack for this video (sountrack which I'm very fond of as it reflects some of the emotions I've felt during the shooting time).

The full project page is
https://www.alessiofelicioni.net/gargano
and it contains the main video (plus the trailer), all the pictures and a bit of behind the scene. Feel free to browse it!

I made a presentation of the video in a well known place in Peschici, Gargano, the "Ristorante Al Trabucco da Mimì", maybe you've heard of it Smile
The video have been patronised by Gargano National Park and got the sponsorship of important commercial realities, as well as the tecnhical partnership of Shootools, producer of fine video and time-lapse equipment, Montura, leading company in the production of technical outdoor equipment and Photofuture, official Sony distributor.

All right, enough with the chit-chatter, I'll leave you to the video :)

Let me know what you think :)

Cheers

Marvelous work Alessio.
Through gruesome work you made a dreamy out-of-this-world quick vision. The time-lapse suits you so well.
I understood in my way the idea of the music - beatings of the heart dropped in the sea, some very deep....but somehow it confused me.

I've never been there believing that the tourists invaded the place - which in your video is craftily avoided (or is it?)
In one sequence one gets a glimpse of some reality - at night, the traffic in the distance outpaced the trajectory of the stars. Great sequence.
Mille grazie.

wow - that is amazing! Love all about it - especially the awesome night shots - the music is wonderful too.
Makes me want to go there immediately - to the land where lemons grow, the ocean sings and the stars promise happiness....

Very well done, Alessio - Congrats on your beautiful work!

It's absolutely stunning. for someone who just started with time lapses just recently, its so inspiring. Recently i made one with the sunrise at shanghai bund and some timelapses with sunsets and sunrises in xiapu. would you like to share the equipment used during your shoot?

It is true that my intent was to show this lands "bare naked", without people walking around, but it is also true that I shot the 80% of the sequences in autumn and spring, so I didn't actually have to avoid people as in "high and low seasons" there simply are very few around.
If you wish to visit those places I strongly suggest march/april, as the grass is green, the tourists are few and the weather is extremely enjoyable :)

:)

Yep, sure :)
I've used three camera bodies: Canon 60D (10% of the sequences), Canon 6D (40% of the sequences), Canon 5D mark III (50% of the sequences).
As for the lenses, I've mainly used (unfortunately) a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II, which I still believe is one of the worst lenses Canon ever made. Other than that, I've used a Samyang 14mm f/2.8, a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L IS II (Which I still believe is one of the best lenses Canon ever made :D) and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II (Which I believe is the best lens Canon has ever made lOl).

Other than the camera equipment I've used a motorized slider, the ShooTools Slider One, with two rails and a mechanical panning system.

Anyways I'm Sony now, only Canon thing I have left is the (try to guess.....) 70-200 f/2.8 :D

Thanks for asking, if you have any further questions I'm here :)
