So what's the best way of carrying/switching out equipment. If you're doing a full day of photography, constantly switching lenses back and forth, getting it in and out of a backpack isn't very functional. I know that there's harnesses/belts/funky setups out there. But we no longer have photography stores around us, and looking on line doesn't show all that much.
So does anyone have a system that they recommend? |

Multiple camera bodies. That's what a lot of photojournalists do. Honestly, I only bring a couple lenses when I go out, sometimes just one. But I don't have photo FOMO though. I put my batteries and cards in my pockets. I always wear cargo pants when out shooting.

Two DSLR's with zooms that complement each other. Nikon D750 (full frame) with a 24-120mm and a D500 (cropped sensor) with a 70-200mm and a 1.4x teleconverter in my pocket effectively gives me a 105-300mm or a 145-420mm walking around. I need little else.
I've purchased one of those harness systems but hate it. My brother turned me on to Domke straps which have these non-slip stripes on them and don't advertise what you're carrying. One on each shoulder or one on the left shoulder and the more useful one in my hand. |

One on each shoulder. No-slip straps on the Domkes I use don't allow the one I put on my normally empty shoulder to slide off. Did it for 3 hours yesterday morning with no issues. |

I do a lot of hiking and travel photography and I found the Envy straps on Facebook. Ordered the camera strap system and I have been thrilled with my purchase. It doesn't accommodate multiple lenses but you can get a fanny pack to hold a different lens. I wear my envy strap then my jacket and then a backpack with my extra lens and other photo equipment. There are other systems that I evaluated from the big online camera stores but they wouldn't fit my body comfortably. The Envy strap uses my shoulders to carry the weight of the camera vs my neck which is a chronic pain spot for me. Most of the camera straps are designed for men not for the female body....
Here is a link to the Envy straps. The prices are in Canadian dollars and I got a huge discount because I paid in US dollars and didn't have to pay VAT.

| I use a Holdfast Moneymaker for when i'm using two cameras at the same time at weddings. Best buy I ever made. Very comfortable, even on 12-14 hour days p articulately now i'm back to using heavy dslr's. |

Two bodies for the win. For speed and ease of use. I use at least one on a rapid strap. The other on a regular strap. Though this might be like the ultimate solution, a bit nerdy though comfy. //www.blackrapid.com/Double-Breathe |

| Thanks guys. I'm still going back and forth. 2 cameras is a great solution -- but I'm shooting in difficult lighting, so I'm finding that I'm really liking the Sony's EVF. I can see the results before taking the shot. I'm going in rather blind with the canon. That's why I'm tempted to just switch lenses when necessary. But I'll explore all options. |

I run the think tank pro speed belt with a set of 3 pouches for my 70-200; 24-120; 35; 77mm filters; flash; memory cards and with the load bearing harness.

I figured it beat the price of owning another camera just to wield different lenses although it is slightly slower than a dual camera setup.

| Wendy, check out the Cotton Carrier line of products. I have several pieces and really like the holder that fits on a strap. I use that with a daypack for extended carries. |
