Starting today you can now upload your prints to the //www.samsphotoclub.com website and if your local SAM'S club has a 1 hour processing center you can run down after the 1 hour and pick up your prints. :o) They even allow you to pay COD when you get to the store so you don't have to pay with credit/debit card up front.

Just though I would share.

Thanks for this post :)

I was looking for a way to do this with a local printer. I guess this will seal that deal with Sam's Club for my 4x6 printing.

I had been using Eckerd Drug and paying $0.29 each for prints. Sam's does them for $0.18 each. The only thing I don't particularly like about Sam's is the paper they print on. I'm gonna give this a try on my next set of 4x6 prints that I need...

I really like sams but I do agree about the paper. They sort of print on a matte but gloss kind of paper if that makes sense.

Welcome for the post. I'm excited about this because I no longer have to go in there and stand in front of their machines with everyone looking over my shoulder.

I've been pretty happy with Sam's Club prints (DPC quality seems better but Sam's Club is less than half the price and practically instant). This service isn't new as of today, though.

This service is new as of today. The software was just loaded to the SAM'S web site last night and the documentation was started to be handed out today in the stores.

You have always been able to order via the web and have the prints shipped to your SAMS club from an external printer which took 5 days but your prints uploaded via the web were never sent directly to you local SAM'S club and printed on their instore 1 hour printers.

This 1 Hour service is brand new as of today.

Don't know about Wal-Mart. I wouldn't use my local Wal-Mart anyway. I got prints made their once and all of the whites were yellow. I think they threw a yellow sock in with my prints when they made them. LOL!!!

Check with your local pickup site and find out how they treat their machines first. Ask the lab manager if they plot daily. If they have no clue, run in the opposite direction. :)

Ours does. Our local SAM'S Club Manager is awesome and there is even a guy in the store that used to work for Fuji. There is this other guy in there that knows how to do just about anything you ask him to with the Frontier Machine. I think we are very fortunate with our SAM'S club.

Probably their stabilizer was outta whack. That's usually the major cause of off colors. Most Wal-Marts/SAMS/Costcos do not plot (check their chemistry) daily. That's what leads to things like yellow whites.

Sam's is owned by walmart but does not offer the same service (I dont believe) Sam's is a members only company, I have a membership via my business. I tend to disagree about the paper quality. I have never ordered from DPC, but Sam's is the best I have found for the price. I like the Fuji Paper Matte and .18 cents per 4x6 and i think .89 for 5x7's are great prices. I am THRILLED they are finally doing this at Sam's!! I have used the website service in the past and waited the 5 days, it will be awesome not to have to go in, use the machine, walk around for an hour or leave and come back. Woo Hoo! :o)

Sorry.
They could have the absolute best service available on the planet, but still wouldn't use them, as I choose not to support the 20th Century Locusts.
Can of worms is now open.

I don't use Sams because they are the only place on the face of the earth that will not take VISA. Not even VISA debit cards. What is up with that? You would think they would accept anything that Walmart accepts, but NOOOOO.

I think Sam's only takes Discover. I can't remember because I only use cash with them. I think they may take a Visa debit card though.

I'm almost sure that their decision to not take credit cards is so they can maintain lower prices. Credit card companies charge the vendors who accept them.

I agree, it's pretty annoying. The funny thing is, they'll take any credit card through their website, just not in the store.

In any case, it looks like the photo thing is kind of buggy, it kicks me back out to the sign in page whenever I try to check out.

I haven't tried to order yet but I think I will probably get an order together tonight. I may just go ahead and get my first set of notecard prints from them via this site to try it out.

I'll bite. I wold not use Sam's or WalMart. Try reading Fast Food Nation for enlightenment. Now Costco is a diffeent story. They have good relations with their employees offering decent pay and benefits. In the long run the old rule applies - you get what you pay for. Best choice - support your local small business shop owner.

Feel free to post your rants in the rant section, but let's keep this thread about the Sam's service, not about the evils of big corporations.

Just a note: I used to work for a upscale photography studio that had all smaller prints made at Sam's club (anything less than 11 x 17). We tried many different Sam's locations until we found the one that made the best prints... it can be hit or miss with some of their digital labs. They all used Fuji paper, but I suggest comparing results a few stores to find out which is the best in your area . While the prints are cheap, there was a noticible difference between some of the stores that our head photographer was not pleased with.

Of course, we also did professional surface treatments to the prints after we got them back.... but our chosen "digital studio" AKA Sam's Club put out some really nice work overall.

Mine does accept Visa Debit. I use my bankcard there all the time. Most of the time actually. Must be that yours doesn't accept it because mine does.

Yes, I placed an order today and had the same issue a few times. This is the first day for it to be live and they really don't expect all of the bugs to be worked out of the site until next week when they will officially announce this service. I guess you could say in a way we are BETA testing for them. However, I did get my order to go through and picked up my prints earlier tonight. :o)

Did you, by chance, get any black and whites printed? If so, how do they look?

Yes... I hope my local club can match that :)
