hi darren,
i've used the teleconverters on my old s602. one thing i would recommend is that you get the 55mm extension tube, not the 55-52 version like you see on eBay alot. and also get either the fuji converter, or the olympus like gurilla said. try to stay away from the "knock-off" brands that are available online, they tend to be of a lower quality. otherwise, enjoy!

thanks for the heads up guys, will the 55/55 ring let me use filters?

Yes, the same adaptor ring used for the tele lens attachment can be used for filters. I have adaptor ring on my S7000 at all times and switch from filters to no filters to tele lens as necessary.

Hey, I got a knock off brand from some company in the US, it was $6 (£3-4) and was of a very good quality, it was made of metal too...(55mm) I also bought the proper Telephoto too, and got the proper adaptor with it, so I have the best of both worlds....

Hi,
just wondering what kind of effect could it cause with an off-brand adaptor and telephoto lense for a FujiFilm S7000 camera. I am thinking about buying the adaptor cheap.

Thanks in advance,
Aukipa

Saving money on the adapter won't affect your pictures. I bought a cheap 3x teleconverter to use on my Fuji 3800 and it suffered Chromatic Abberation and purple fringing to the extent that it was almost unusable.

Will all Fugis 3000 to 3700 models all use the same ring? just curious:)

I had purchased an "off brand" wide angle and 2x telephoto for my S5000 from ebay. Thought I'd get a better deal than the lenses offered by Fuji. I now have two very cool paperweights. Spend the money and get the lenses from Fuji. I should have.

Yap, I got the lense kit anyway, just to take a chance.

I've bought the lense kit from ebay - comes with 2x telephoto, wide angle, adaptor tube and 3 filters (flourenscent, polorizer and UV). I found out that 2x zoom has to reach certain power in order to see any difference. Then, the images got blurry on the outside of center point. Ahhh... The image quality really suffered.

It was cheaper than Fuji's. The intergration between the adaptor and camera lense is poor. I don't know if it's better to use Fuji, neither.

I have a s7000 too. Has anyone purchased the Fuji tele and wide, and what were the results?

I believe that KDO has these lenses for her S7000.

I have the Fuji Tele Lens Adaptor. I rarely use it...as stated you have to practically be at full zoom in order to avoid a circular vignette. Tried in macro as with the lense reversed but since it does not readily attach to the adaptor tube in reverse it is really dicey trying to shoot. If you can afford it get it to have it but you can live without. For macros I usually use the adaptor tube and closeup filters....I just live without the telephoto aspect for the most part. I did not get the wide angle based on the telephoto.
