The good folks at MIT can tell you!

Have you tried it? They don't say what size image to upload, or what they'll do with it (if anything) later ...

they're just looking to appropriate our memorable flies.

Yeah, I showed it my Free Study and my NY Resolution, both of which are in submission but not voting, and both of which score VERY MEMORABLE, jejeje. I'm a VERY MEMORABLE photographer, what can I say?

Ha! Didn't find any of the images I uploaded particularly memorable :)

OK -- I submitted five (old) images via their DPC URL and got:

Low - 1
Medium - 1
High - 2
Very High - 1

Anyone care to guess which was which? I'll post results tomorrow after I have a chance to edit the screenshots ...

Does this concept make any sense? Isn't the context and specific subject of the photograph often as important as the scientifically measurable elements?
I'm pretty skeptical but obviously these people are smarter than I am ...

some "famous" photos:

Very high

medium
medium

high
high

Is that the same as a VERY GOOD photographer?

I doubt it, but I'm afraid to find out :-)

I got 4 Highs and one Medium.

(The medium, ROWbearT, is on the one I have to enter after being shot down on my first edit, which was... "high" on the memorable scale. *sigh* )

doesn't seem to be working for me - perhaps due to my work computer settings...will try when I get home though.

I don't even agree with the memorability ratings for their sample photos...

From what I can tell, the simpler it is, the more memorable. Busy pictures, not so memorable.

Y'all BEWARE! My December Free Study is 0.995 memorable! Has anyone seen a higher Memorability Quotient?

ETA: this is not the one I mentioned at the beginning of the thread, I lucked out yesterday :-)

That thing's on glue! It's all over the map. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for its choices.

I got a couple of highly memorables on some really crappy shots and some VERY low memorables on some decent stuff.

ETA: An entry I have now sitting at 6.7xxx got a low memorable.
