Big congrats to In The Works! It was fun watching it go down to the wire like that. Good luck in the finals!

That's fair. I'd do the same thing, but then I'd do in the competition and hide the evidence so I could move on.

Oh wait.... I should be giving the mob any ideas...

Congrats In the Works. One question though, if all the members of In The Works suddenly "disappear" is the Hit Squad back in the finals?

Wendy will be the easiest to find, she's currently in Virginia, focus your efforts there.

Thanks for throwing me under the bus!! Now the true inner team politics shows through

Yes, congratulations to Glass Eye for taking the victory and the chance to win it all.
They were tough competition and though we tried our darndest, well there can be only one winner.

Now, it seems only fitting that the ones who came in second vie for an Unofficial Third Place win.

"The Bronze" anyone? Look for some really great images in the next two challenges from IMAGENATION!
(heh, heh)

We would prefer to start in Jersey and then work our way south.

I guess it makes sense to take out the strongest team member first.

Not a chance. Sorry, but it's gonna pass inspection.

Speaking of blur though, I think that the mix of blur and what is sharp looks really weird and I can understand why somebody might think that blur was added. But, nope, no blur was added in post.

Yeah, it's the crispness of the lettering on the products at the side. I'm assuming Front/Rear curtain flash was used and it grabbed those details?

You got it. I always set my cameras to rear curtain sync when setting them up for the first time. It's one of my "default settings". I was surprised at that mix of blur and sharpness but I wouldn't have had to worry about it as much if my model could contain her excitement and stop bouncing around. I ended up having to increase my shutter speed because she was creating too much motion blur from moving back and forth. The fisheye lens probably makes her look larger than she is but she just turned five years old and she was having a great time.

Great stuff! Wouldn't have guessed that you used flash, but the technique worked very well to deliver a grand shot.

Cory, you and I posted at the same time. See my last post here.

I did use flash with rear curtain sync and it was a real bear to hold the flash in my left hand, push the cart straight with my right hand and also use my right hand to press the shutter button.

Yeah, I'm a little surprised, did you use a modifier, or was it bare bulb? If modified, did you just go guerrilla style, or did you get permission?

I've NEVER succeeded in getting permission to shoot in a grocery store, not even one where I know the manager well. "Corporate Policy" :-( Whenever I try to sneak some shots with a "real" camera I get chased off tout suite. I've managed some P&S shots in wholesale clubs though.

I used a bare flash held high and to my left in my left hand. I had umbrella soft boxes in the car and I had a gray card with me. But, honestly, I was a little flustered and rushed this a little in anticipation of getting confronted and kicked out so I just rushed it without using either. Getting the color temperature corrected was really tough and I still don't think that I got it quite right.

I haven't had good luck through this DPL season with my entries. I got questioned by the police for my graveyard entry, delayed by them a little while they ran a check on my ID, and then they kicked me out of the cemetery saying that it was private property. I thought that I was going to get hit by lightning while paddleboarding on the bay on my way back from Vizcaya for my attempt at a Golden Hour shot (which I never got). So, I was fully expecting to get kicked out of Publix, but several employees peeked around the corner and a couple of managers stood at the end of the aisle looking on for a few minutes before they moved on. I was very surprised that they let me continue.

Oh, I've got a room. And he has a boat. We're pretty much set.
