I'm with Tiny. How the hell can I be amused if by the time I get home from work and can finally sit down and read the snippier comments they're all gone?? Hmmm??

Sigh. I miss all the fun.

No fun here either.

And I think awarding people for voting MIGHT be a good idea except that, unlike with commenting, nobody but you can actually SEE that you have voted 100%.

That's one of the things we're looking into possibly changing.

When it's for something positive it's usually referred-to as "acknowledging" not "calling-out" ...

it can be taken both ways and i cant wait to get pm's and read posts telling me how rude I and others are for not voting 100%.

I tend to either vote 100% or not at all.

For the past year and change it has been the latter, but I might get back into the swing of things.

That would be great!

Given that the challenges in the past year or two or three have been 100 entries or less, if folks are voting at least the challenges they enter, their votes cast divided by challenges entered should be 100 or greater. Does that make sense? If you vote MORE than the challenges you enter, your ratio goes higher. If you don't vote the challenges you enter, but vote other challenges, you might hit 100, or you might not. And if you rarely vote, your average would be less than 100 (in a couple of test cases, I found an average of 16.)

Not sure what any of this means other than I should already be in the shower and getting ready for work.... carry on!

If there is a photo I dislike, I will make sure to vote 20% so my vote for that one will count.

I prefer not voting, but of late I'm using the 5-6-7 keys exclusively. Bad composition or image = 5. Good, meeting the challenge = 6. GREAT = 7. DNMC = 1

Interesting point of view, considering how subjective that is.

Personally I knock off a point or two, maybe 3 if it would've been a 7 but I completely can't see the relation to the challenge.

Oh well.

It isn't always subjective, that really depends on the challenge. If I can't see any relation to the challenge, I vote a 1 for DNMC as well. It's pretty much the only thing I vote a 1 for, and I don't do it very often. The voting scale is 1-10, so if you aren't going to use it, that simply means you're voting on a smaller scale. Personally, I would like a larger range than we currently have.
