Just third DPL in ions... and complaints are endless lately. The reason? Scared management stopped the league because of distrust complains etc. resolution would be, let it run without a break, while league continued, evolution would take over and things would be just fine after a while... No time given!

Will managment stop DPL after this one too? What if there are some people cheating... what if people are voting low...
Let them, SC will find those and take care of it. If not, still let them. Idea here is to have fun, other than weekly boring chalenges. DPL gave life back to DPC... Don't stop it now. Let evolution take over.

My two cents :-/

I just don't understand all the complaints! There were so many requests to have DPL, then when it starts everyone starts complaining. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. That is true of everything on this site. I'm just glad Langdon and SC continue to weather the storms.

And as much as you'd like to think this thread helps, it doesn't. It just keeps pointing to the complaining.

It is human nature to complain. If you want things to change, start talking about all the great stuff that's happening.

I haven't seen any complaints. I'm having fun.

I'm having a blast with happy, talkative teammates. While it's satisfying to complain about scores every once in awhile, we're talking to much about photography to let it affect us.

Back to thinking about puzzle macro!

My point with this thread is hopefully management would read it and hear how some (most) of us feel about the situations they are worry about too much... which ended DPL for so long! to "ignore" the complaints and cheatings etc... Not ignore as in "not doing" something about them but continue DPL whatever happens.

It is also human nature to give up when everything you do results in negativity. I do not know Langdon or SC personally, but I would become disheartened at times about the reactions of people on the site. Maybe not everyone reacts that way.

And I would like to see DPL continue. I think it would be fun and would hopefully get to participate next time.

Edit to add the last line.

Quite a few things have changed around here in your absence - and by most counts for the better. Management is one of those things :)

I think something is lost in the translation Johanna, I think he's saying, "don't let complaints get you guys (Langdon and SC) down. Keep the DPL just the way it is"

Am loving DPL - has brought back my spirit of adventure. And great team mates providing top advice and encouragement which is just what I need..... learning, learning, learning!

Its also human nature to stay silent when things are fine ... and I think the vast majority of participants on this site have no issues with the DPL.

It seems to me that the same few people keep voicing the same tired complaints over and over again, but the notion that they speak for everyone or that there is a groundswell of opposition to the league seems wrong to me ... at least I don't see it. The squeaky wheel may get the grease, but like I told my kids when they were growing up, complaining more often or more loudly doesn't automatically make you right.

Yes Captain... and keep it running for good, no matter who says what or do!

This is my first year in DPL. So far I love it. I love that I can talk and strategize with my team. It helps me so much more compared to just "learning it on my own".

With DPL I get to learn next to professional lead captains along side with people who are at my level, over it, and under it.

Just the feedback and comraderie I've had with my team so far has been worth it.

My philosophy, if you're going to complain, also give legitimate ideas to fix what you're complaining about. otherwise keep your mouth shut because no one like someone who whines.

Not sure if you mean to have it ongoing or an annual event. Might be too much to always have teams. I could see it once or twice a year.

Even once a year... DPC is 1000 years old, only 3 DPL. I realize DPC wasn't found with DPL, but it is the best invention after sliced DNMC!

(That was my very last comment for this subject. I am sure most understood my point.)

Nice. That attitude will certainly engender a good dialogue. It is possible for someone to have a legitimate concern but not necessarily have a solution but throw it out there to see if someone does.

I feel the comments on images and higher number of people participating in challenges has brought life back to the site. Thus far I'm loving it inspite of my scores.

A legitimate concern can be expressed without condescension, sarcasm, or otherwise negative attitude. I don't think anyone would object to that. It is the tone of the complaining or whining that often bothers me.
