It's been a wonderful two and a half years since I branched out and started my own business and I'm just loving it, it really has helped me to grow tremendously. Some of you might be able to remember my old website was all black and as someone said more like a gallery than a profession. So with some wise advice and some good website designers they were able to come up with this bright new fresh modern design. Please let me know if I can improve on anything. Some of the photos need to be taken down most likely, some don't seem as sharp due to the 200kb limit, but I need to keep them small for faster internet connection.

If you have a FB don't forget to like it, thanks in advance.

I like your new look, but for me it is still the slowest site in the world.

I know I said this before and it still takes eons to load the images.

Maybe its just me but no other site is like this.

Firstly the site design is really nice and superb photography on show.

The site does seem a bit sluggish to me too. Will have a proper test later today

This site may be able to judge the speed

Thanks guys, I'm going to contact my webdesigner to see what she can do.

It's a shame as this is one of the reasons I changed my site. It loads faster here, even after I clear the cache, we have pretty fast internet.

A quick observation

The thumbs on the homepage for studio portraits, child portraits and wedding portraits - none of the subjects were looking at the camera - seems a bit odd but perhaps deliberate?

Maybe ask your web designer to take a look at what css and js files she is loading for each of the pages - looks like she may be loading a load of files for each and every page even if they are not required for that page. You can also suggest loading jquery from a faster CDN (Content Delivery Network). Also be sure you have good quality web hosting - as you need to make sure that factor is not a bottleneck too.

haha, I didn't think it was important but I guess it is, I'm changing them as we speak though, seeing what looks good and what doesn't. Remember I am mainly a candid photographer, so that's probably why I choose those images.

Ah perhaps that restricts your designer in how she loads the files. It is not unbearably slow - just seems to be a bit sluggish. When I first arrived at the site I was presented with a blank page for approximately 8 seconds before anything loaded.

Ok 8 secs not too bad! But not great also, I will ask her tomw think she's gone home for the day.

i like the layout, clean and informative. you aren't all over the place and clearly state your services, that said, it is still very slow and unfortunately people are impatient.

By the way I love most of your Misc portfolio.
I have similar images, taken with less skill !

I would speed up your slide show. Most people are not patient enough to wait for the next slide to come through. I didn't even realize it was a slide show until I scrolled back up and it was a different photo. Right now it seems like it is about 30 seconds per photo, I would take it down to like 4-8 seconds.

Thanks I knew there was something else I had to do, I'll get onto it later.

It has a lovely professional feel to it and its easy to navigate, also your images are beautiful....but I agree it does need speeding up a tad :)

Lovely colours and feel, easy to move around and find information,
a little slow in downloading images.
I like how the image colours saturate when you put the pointer over them

Yes that was my designers choice I wasn't sure at first so I'm glad you gave me positive feedback about that. Thanks.
