Woke up this moring to find my photo was disqualified from the complexity challenge. This is the email I received:

We regret to inform you that your submission to the Complexity challenge("Complexity? Depends on who you ask") has been disqualified for the following reason:Literal photographic representations of the entirety of existing works of art(including your own) are not considered acceptable submissions, however creative depictions or interpretations of "art" are permissible. This includes, but is not limited to: paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, computer artwork, computer monitors, and televisions.Your entry has been reviewed by the Site Council and/or Administrators, who have confirmed that your submission must be disqualified.

At first i didn’t know what the hell this meant but it was explained to me later and I accepted the decision.

What I want to know is, has anyone else gone through this? If so tell me your story

If you don't mind, could you post the picture here so we can see what we are talking about?

It has happened before, but not to me -- this thread discusses the rule in extensive detail, "Am I being picked on?".

Because it's been disqualified, you'll have to reupload it into your portfolio.

I tried this to fix the link [thumb]107610[/thumb], but it seems that the image has been removed.

You need to upload it again. Because it was DQed, it was deleted.

I agree with the DQ here I'm afraid... nothing really new has been created with existing artwork.
I almost got DQed with my Stopped Motion shot... I'll be sure to submit photos which don't look quite so faked in future.

I almost got DQed with my Stopped Motion shot... in fact for all I know it might still be DQed, as it was waiting for validation right up to the end of the challenge, and despite my emailing the sc no-one has got back to me to tell me if I'm safe.

I had a feeling it would be considered for DQ but i thought it looked so damn good i had to submit it and take that chance. It was actually doing well peaking at 5.8
