The strongest geomagnetic storm of the current solar cycle is happening now. If you are in the northern latitudes and have a clear sky tonight (or it's night right now), I would head to somewhere dark and take a look. We even have a new moon! I so wish I was back in Iceland right now!

Reports last night had sightings as far south as Illinois.

Our radio at work has been fuzzing out all day. I even joked with my boss about sunspots before I saw the story about the solar storm.

Been out for almost 3 hrs tonight. We don't often see them as well we did tonight. Quite a nice display. They are still out there dancing around, but I had to leave. Lousy photos but worth getting cold for.

It's still stormin'... not much visible here yet, but later in the evening we could be in for a treat... we'll see.

LOL our work programs had a huge issues today too could not get nothing done at all, We all blamed it on this storm

I wasn't able to see anything where I was at... hope some people got some good shots

We had a look, but it was quite hazy, so all we saw was just a very faint, colourless imitation of the aurora. Bad luck.

The storm is subsiding, so probably not like the last two nights...

Was in Mid-Scotland last night and made point of checking but sadly we had a blanket of cloud.....Hey ho. Another time mebbee.
